Democratic State Chair: McCain had chosen a running mate whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion…

South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”
Told of McCain’s boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: “Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway.”
My prediction, that Democrats would send out women to start launching these attacks is proving more and more true every day. Now you know how Hillary supporters felt when his campaign was pulling this kind of nonsense on her.
Democratic Congressman Russ Carnahan - “There’s no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick”
Obama – “You can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig”
Michelle Obama Chief of Staff - “she’s the queen of pork in Alaska”
Former New York Mayor Ed Koch, as part of his endorsement of Obama, said Palin “scares the hell out of me.”
Obama - “moose shooter”
Huffington Post (top five Democrat site) – “On the stump, not a single word that comes out of her mouth — or not a single word that the McCain folks put in her mouth — is anything but a lie”
Obama says he wasn’t talking about Palin with the pig comment.
Our take: After Palin’s famous line about hockey moms, pit-bulls and lipstick, it is hard to imagine that a master orator like Obama would be so inartful. Obama paused and said it with emphasis as you can see in the video and the crowd erupted as they obviously took it as a shot at Palin. They point out that McCain has used that term “lipstick on a pig” to describe bloated government spending. If Obama is innocent, its a big time gaffe that unfortunately coincides with sexist attacks from other members of his campaign, left wing pundits and the elite media. There are also the attacks from his campaign calling Palin a Pork Queen etc when it comes to federal earmark spending when Palin took efforts to tighten up and reduce such earmarks and we have posted that evidence on this very site.
Bottom line: The timing of Obama’s comment and similar comments by his surrogates make it hard to believe and after the Obama campaign totally took McCain’s message out of context to the stratosphere by claiming McCain wants a 100 year war in Iraq, We can’t say that we blame the McCain camp for their reaction.
UPDATE II: Just now on The Fox Report with Shepard Smith the former Democrat Chair of South Carolina, Dick Harpootlian, made a crack about McCain being 72. Shep Smith interjected and asked Is that an age crack!?!…and he said no of course not… and then said again McCain is a 72 year old man running for the presidency and then he repeated saying “72″ three times.
