They spent hundreds of millions in influence peddling to keep the regulators off their backs while they funneled money to politicians and partisan orgs. The vast majority going to Democrats and YOU are paying for it.

Not only did Obama and Dodd get the most money in the Senate, but the same people that ran Fannie Mae into the ground are the economic advisers in Obama’s campaign. Clinton appointees were on the boards….and Obama blames Bush and McCain.

  1. According to the New York Times, Democrats blocked Bush’s Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reforms so low income people with bad credit could buy houses.
    ”These two entities -Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, and the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.” said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee.
