Matt Lauer Has Ann Coulter on to Argue with Her and Not Let Her Finish a Sentence

Posted by iusbvision on January 7, 2009

…till the end when she calls him on his behavior….

This interview is a perfect example of what Ann is talking about. Conservatives with FACTS go on and what do they usually get, an argument, talked over and their points misrepresented on purpose to the audience. They get questions that are nothing more than thinly veiled attacks with a question mark at the end. Leftists go on and they usually get softball questions.

In the book Ann compares the questions asked Democrats with the questions and tone of the interviews of Republicans. She did it with NBC’s interviews, we did something similar with the ABC’s interviews of the candidates. It becomes even more obvious that ABC set out to do a hatchet job because the substantive parts of many of the answers Palin gave were edited out – HERE is the full transcript of the Palin interview. The parts appearing in bold text is what the television viewers never saw.

Charles Gibson questions to Obama vs. Palin

Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?

Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

John Edwards interview:

Gibson Didn’t Pound Edwards in 2004; Asked Him If GOP Attacks Made Him Mad

GIBSON: You speak with such equanimity this morning. Didn’t they make you mad last night?

GIBSON: Did you get mad, though?

Since I know that some leftist professors on campus are reading this and are still shaking their heads in denial, here is Matt Lauer with Air America radio host Rachel Maddow. Look at the difference in Lauer’s bahavior and the tone of the interview in general.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA! You rightwing loons should be whining about the total ruin you have brought on this country, destroying the US repuation to the level of a pariah nation., Instead you preen like overstuffed Little Lord Fauntleroy peacocks as though you have something to be proud about, while the haggy shrew (who shows up for morning interviews in her cocktail dress) goes out to remind the nation once again why you all are sick, twisted mental cases.

Do you call that an argument??

    [Rocker,

Lets see – lets take your first argument that “the US has been turned into a pariah nation”.

Germany tossed out its anti-American government and elected a pro-American one. France tossed out it’s anti-American government government and elected a pro-American one. North Korea dismantled its nuclear reactors. Bush is the most popular US president in history in Africa because his policy there has been such a smashing success.

You use language like that and have the nerve to call other people “nut cases”?…. I have seen people with a lack of introspective but you take the cake. Of course, if you merely had the intellectual and factual capacity to make a real argument you would have. You cant even make an argument to back up your own assertions. If I am wrong you are welcome to try. – Editor]
