Debt Has Increased $5 Trillion Since Speaker Pelosi Vowed, ‘No New Deficit Spending’

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

CNS News:

When Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave her inaugural address as speaker of the House in 2007, she vowed there would be “no new deficit spending.” Since that day, the national debt has increased by $5 trillion, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

“After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending,” Pelosi said in her speech from the speaker’s podium. “Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.”

Pelosi has served as speaker in the 110th and 111th Congresses.

At the close of business on Jan. 4, 2007, Pelosi’s first day as speaker, the national debt was $8,670,596,242,973.04 (8.67 trillion), according to the Bureau of the Public Debt, a division of the U.S. Treasury Department.  At the close of business on Oct. 22, it stood at $13,667,983,325,978.31 (13.67 trillion), an increase of 4,997,387,083,005.27 (or approximately $5 trillion).

Pelosi, the 60th speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has added more to the national debt than the first 57 House speakers combined.

Ok where is the elite media pounding this “read my lips” moment?

Citizens Against Government Waste Porker of the Month: Debbie Wasserman Schultz!

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

Schultz is the most relentless liar I have ever seen in politics. She will make up a lie and stick with it come hell or high water. She will continue to try to talk over anyone who she is on the air with and will not come up for air and will filibuster till the end of the interview. That is the tactic she uses regularly.

Elite Media Pinhead Katie Couric: It’s great to be traveling America among “the great unwashed”

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

Via Howard Kurtz:

That’s why Couric has spent recent weeks in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is touring what she calls “this great unwashed middle of the country” in an effort to divine the mood of the midterms.

It has been obvious for some time that the elite media feels this way, but yes indeed she actually said it.  I took a shower this morning, how about you?

Obama to Hispanics: Punish Your Enemies

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

Krauthammer Obama telling Latinos to punish enemies criticize them if they don’t

In a radio interview that aired on Univision on Monday, Mr. Obama sought to assure Hispanics that he would push an immigration overhaul after the midterm elections, despite fierce Republican opposition. “If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder and that’s why I think it’s so important that people focus on voting on November 2.”

Apostle Claver: The party of racism is the Democrats

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

This is one stem-winder of a speech with a very straight forward point. Look at where there is Democrat Progressivism unrestrained, look at where Progressives have almost total power. What do you see? You see inner cities with failing schools, not enough wealth, 50% drop outs, high unemp0loyment, high abortion rates and kids that do graduate with a diploma that inst worth much.

Warning, if you are a far left progressive who lives in a world of theory, this video could make blood shoot right out of your eyes.

Here is another message. Do you have any idea how many black American babies have been murdered in abortion mills? Many estimates say that the number is over 40 million … think about that number for a moment… 40 million. Democrats are making money on this slaughter. What would Malcolm X, or Ghandi, or Martin Luther King, or Frederick Douglass have to say about this?

Far Left nut who was “stepped on” by a Rand Paul supporter tried to get at the candidate and reached into his vehicle…

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

Of course the “elite media” didn’t want to tell you about that or show you that part of the video.

Now we know that this nut was trying to get her hands on the candidate so the crowd and security rushed in to deal with her. The entire story from the nut is a fabrication. The video doesn’t lie.

Governor Christie Gets It: “People want to be talked to like they are adults. They do not want to be pandered to.”

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

This is how to do it folks.

The people who work on the Today Show are hostile to Governor Christie’s politics, but look at how they react to him. They respect him because he speaks to them like they are adults. No tricks, no ambiguity, no language that is difficult to pin down. Think about it, don’t you like and respect people who tell you the truth regularly? Of course you do.

Michele Bachmann shows how a good campaign commercial should be done

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

This is a very good commercial. It lets the voters see their candidate as they are as opposed to seeing their candidate in a staged dramatic scene (like the candidate wearing a construction hat, pointing at something off-screen that isn’t there and nodding). The candidate is explaining herself directly. Voters like to feel as if they have a dialog and a relationship with their Member of Congress and this ad is a good step in that direction.

Still, I would have been a tad more hard hitting with the substance and said something like, “Minnesota voters and small businesses know that our economy just can’t support a government that costs $3 Trillion dollars a year”.

Voters are paying attention to the issues more closely than before and independent swing voters have educated themselves (see Rasmussen and Gallup) to a level not seen in my memory so more substantive commercials are in order.  In some races there is too much of a tendency to get too cute by a half in the ads. This can generate recoil that can hurt a candidate, just ask Grayson in Florida.

All in all this is a great ad.

Communications pro’s know that in large part that, “The medium is the message”. People see the ads on TV and when you hear them speak they say “I am so sick of the negative TV ads” or they say “I am so sick of the ads on TV” and that is because so many TV ads are too similar in one way or another.

In this Bachmann ad the medium is not the TV or the “boob tube” it is Michele. People see the first few seconds of the ad and think, “Hey there is Michele”  and they don’t think “oh crap its another one of those TV ads” and reach for the mute button. Mark Souder’s radio ads were very effective because it was just Mark talking to you like you were an adult. They were very effective (just ask his opponent from 2008 – I did). Governor Christie in New Jersey has a similar communications strategy.

SEIU Forcing Members to Contribute to Democrat PAC – Obama Administration Admits It’s Illegal, But Declines to Prosecute…

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

SEIU is the government employees union. SEIU used to share offices with the corrupt and now defunct ACORN (you know the vote fraud outfit that was caught suborning child trafficking, prostitution, bank fraud and tax fraud).

SEIU is Obama’s biggest supporter.

It gets worse….

By the way, many of these unions are not fully funding their employee retirement plans.

Employers in U.S. Start Bracing for Higher Tax Withholding

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

$250,000 a year huh ….  well even if you are in the bottom tax bracket your income tax rate will go from 10% to 15%. This is a part of the uncertainty we have all been talking about. By the way soon your payroll taxes will go up too. Many small to medium sized business that use the personal income rates rather than the corporate ones will have their rate go to 39.9%. But hey, Google only paid 2.4% tax this year.

Bloomberg News:

Employers in the U.S. are starting to warn their workers to prepare for slimmer paychecks if Congress fails to vote on an extension of Bush-era tax cuts.

“I’ve been doing payroll for probably close to 30 years now, and never have we seen something like this where it gets that down to the wire,” said Dennis Danilewicz, who manages payroll services for about 14,000 employees at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. “That’s what’s got a lot of people nervous. All we can do is start preparing communications with a couple of different scenarios.”

Lawmakers won’t start debating whether to extend the cuts, which expire Dec. 31, until after the Nov. 2 elections. Because it takes weeks to prepare withholding schedules, the Internal Revenue Service will probably have to assume the cuts will expire and direct employers to increase payroll deductions starting Jan. 1, experts say.

“We’re kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place,” said Ron Moser, head of human resources for the school district of Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda, New York, which pays about 1,900 teachers, custodians and aides each month. In upstate New York, where winter heating costs are among the highest in the country, many school employees earn between $20,000 and $40,000 a year, he said, and losing $50 in a paycheck is “a significant dollar amount.”

Democrat Governor Candidate Alex Sink Caught Lying About Cheating in Televised Debate … by CNN

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

Wow, I am mildly surprised that CNN didn’t bury this, but this story is HUGE and CNN is desperate for ratings at the moment.

In short, Florida Governor Candidate Alex Sink was handed a PDA with debate tips on it during the middle of a debate. This is totally against the rules. Her story is that she was told that it was an “urgent message” as if it was from family:

CNN amplified the audio and picked up the conversation about what was on the PDA and it was, of course, debate tips from her staff. Sink knew it was debate tips and she used the debate tips in the debate. Bottom line, Sink lied and is caught red handed.

While we have scolded CNN several times for taking journalistic ethics and tossing them out the window, this was a solid piece of journalism and CNN gets the credit.

Minnesota Democrat Betty McCollum: Al-Qaeda No Longer a Threat

Posted by iusbvision on October 28, 2010

File this one under… wow, just wow. I mean we have all seen the Democrats at times fall into denial about the war on terror, such as the Obama Administration referring to it as “the overseas contingency operation”, but few have taken it quite this far:

It gets better. Betty McCallum then goes on to say ….well you have just got to see this. Someone please show Betty a Constitution…
