Seven Democrat Senators to MSNBC: “Obama Has No Idea What He’s Doing”

Posted by iusbvision on November 13, 2010

Watch this video VERY carefully.

At first Mika tries to demagogue with “No Republican has ever been in the White House” when she knows full well that isn’t the point (and she does a pretty lousy acting job in the process) and when Scarborough calls her out and says (paraphrasing) “You know damn well who these Democratic Chairman are because they told you the same thing they told me” and Mika gives no denial or protest after that whatsoever which spoke her answer as well as if she had just admitted it.

Video courtesy of our friend Nice Deb:

So who are the Scarborough and Mika seven?Well we know that most are committee chairs, but are they standing committees or lesser ones?

Lieberman –  ok that one is obvious.

Schumer is obvious too. He has been on the show a few times and he wants to replace Harry Reid as Democrat leader. Since Reid is so tied to Obama this one too becomes well obvious.

Kent Conrad, the head of the budget committee, sees how the executive is spending stimulus money and the word is that he is not pleased. Odds are he is one.

In the “more likely than not” category are Landrieu and Dodd

Mary Landrieu, she is also less of a leftist then the leadership. She chairs the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and offered some resistance to ObamaCare before they bought her off. Landrieu is also a real estate agent by trade; Obama’s mortgage assistance program was an overwhelming failure and you can bet her friends are not pleased.

Chris Dodd is done and has nothing to lose. He wants friends in the media so maybe he can sell a book or get a talking head gig, or in general is keeping his options open as Obama’s popularity continues to sink.

OK that is five of the seven, any guesses political science faculty or students? Come on you know you wanna.

Now if we want to include an important sub-committee – Evan Bayh is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Security and International Trade and Finance and his wife Suzy is a board member for Wellpoint, the largest insurer in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield network. Suzy can’t be happy about the details of what ObamaCare is doing to the industry. If there is one sub-committee guy in the list and Scarborough was being a tad vague, its Evan Bayh.  Its just so obvious I will go out on a limb and say we have six of the seven.

Anyone doubt me on these guesses?

New York Times Calls Glenn Beck an Antisemite: Ignores Key facts, Ignores Letter from ADL Declaring Beck “A Friend of the Jewish People”

Posted by iusbvision on November 13, 2010

Why anyone believes a word that appears in the New York Times without triple checking it first is beyond me. Almost every day there are articles in that paper that can be debunked in minutes of fact checking. Example # 1, 374, 924 of this fundemental truth. The New York Times prints this:

Writing on The Daily Beast, the author Michelle Goldberg said Mr. Beck’s Tuesday and Wednesday programs were a “symphony of anti-Semitic dog whistles.”

The NYT also said that the ADL was criticizing Beck for reporting how George Soros admitted that he enjoyed working for the Nazi’s confiscating property of Jews and (as the narrative goes) how it just could not be true…. Oh really….. hey NYT… YouTube is a Behar isn’t it??

In Soros’ own words folks:

Well guess what the New York Times had in their possession BEFORE they printed the slander against Glenn Beck?

UPDATEAnother Jewish Group Defends Beck!

The national Jewish group Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has come out strongly against Jewish leaders critical of Glenn Beck’s recent George Soros expose, which detailed his actions during the Holocaust, calling such criticism of Beck “painful, troubling and disquieting.”

“ZOA has expressed its concern over the strong criticism that a number of American Jewish leaders and other prominent Jews in recent days have directed at Fox broadcaster, Glenn Beck, for his criticism of Israel/U.S.-basher, financier George Soros, regarding his behavior in Nazi-occupied Budapest in 1944,” the group says in a statement released Tuesday.

In a three-part series on Beck’s Fox program last week, Beck portrayed Soros as the “puppet master” behind, among other things, world financial collapses. While describing Soros, Beck told how, during the Holocaust, the 14-year-old Hungarian Jew “used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off.” The “anti-Semite” was Soros’s fake grandfather, who was paid off by his real father in an effort to conceal the young Soros’s Jewish identity. He has not shown remorse or regret for those actions.

“A number of American Jewish leaders condemned Mr. Beck for these remarks,” ZOA’s statement says, “yet a 1998 interview with Soros conducted by Steve Kroft on ‘60 Minutes’ shows that Beck did not misstate the facts.”

The group goes on to detail a litany of “anti-Israel, anti-American” remarks made by Soros over the years.*

Among those who have spoken out against Beck are Elan Steinberg, the vice president of the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants; Simon Greer, the director of Jewish Funds for Justice; Jewish writer Michelle Goldberg; and Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League.

“I have seen no proof,” Steinberg has said regarding Beck’s Soros claims, while Greer said Beck “deliberately and grotesquely” mischaracterized Soros’s actions and accused him of “Holocaust revisionism.” Goldberg wrote that Beck’s series went “beyond demonizing” Soros and described the programs as a “symphony of anti-Semitic dog whistles.” And Foxman issued a statement calling Beck’s claims “unacceptable,“ ”offensive,“ and ”horrific.”

Statements like those prompted ZOA to respond.

“It is painful, troubling and disquieting to see Jewish leaders defending any actions by George Soros, someone who has shown himself to be an active antagonist of Israel and the U.S., whom he blames for the world’s troubles,” ZOA National President Morton A. Klein says in the statement.

“In light of Soros’ hatred of Israel and the United States; his continuous efforts to harm them; the absence of any subsequent remorse and feeling as an adult over the events he witnesses in Nazi-occupied Hungary as a 14-year old; as well as the fact that Glenn Beck’s comments were essentially accurate, George Soros merits no defense or sympathy from Jewish leaders,” he adds.

“We are truly puzzled that some Jewish leaders have chosen to defend this and other Israel-bashers from their critics.”

‘Burn in Hell’: Muslim Protesters Disrupt British Veterans Day

Posted by iusbvision on November 13, 2010

So this is how a group of Muslims in England greeted soldiers on Armistice Day (Their Veterans Day). Why did the government let them in the country? Read Mark Steyn’s America Alone for the answer.

Paycheck Fairness Bill: Not About Women. A Huge Power Grab for Government. UPDATED!

Posted by iusbvision on November 13, 2010

This Orwellian  bill is about finding out how much you make by another means and giving the government power to dictate how much a company pays and sets up the EEOC the ability to go after almost unlimited damages. The potential for political abuse is off the scale as the SEIU, trial lawyers etc. would pressure the government to use this against Wal-Mart as a weapon etc.

Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Diana Furchgott-Roth argues the paycheck fairness bill is unnecessary because there is already equal pay and there are already discrimination laws that cover this.

UPDATE-II Human Events Connie Hair:

The Senate is set for a cloture vote today on the Paycheck Fairness Act, which requires that employers collect and provide to the government certain payroll data, classified by the sex, race, and national origin of employees.  The data would be used for assessment of “fairness” of employee wages based on race and gender.

As previously reported on HUMAN EVENTS, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D–Nev.) filed cloture on the motion to proceed to three bills right before Congress recessed for the elections.  Included among those three bills is the Paycheck Fairness Act, which passed the Democrat-led House in January of 2009 and is part of a left-wing wish list being pushed in the lame-duck session.

A boon for trial lawyers, the Paycheck Fairness Act, if passed, would place costly, job-killing new burdens on employers, including the following:

• Requirements for employers to prove that pay differentials are not based on sex and are “consistent with business necessity.”

• Unlimited compensatory and punitive damages for violations of the Equal Employment Act to be levied against private-sector employers.

• Characterization of all employees as belonging to “the same establishment” if they are working in the same county or in similar political subdivisions of a state.

• Automatic inclusion of employees as members of a class-action lawsuit, unless they somehow become aware of the suit and specifically opt out of it.

• Creation of more conditions for lawsuits.

• Creation of a constitutionally-questionable grant program based solely on one’s being female.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a senior fellow and the director of the Center for Employment Policy at the Hudson Institute, told HUMAN EVENTS that the bill would vastly expand the role of government in employer compensation decisions.

“The bill would require the government to collect data from employers on the sex, race, and national origin of employees, significantly adding to red tape, paperwork, and hiring costs, and trapping firms in costly litigation,” Furchtgott-Roth said.

She provides analysis in a new report showing that discrepancies in wages are based on many different factors.

“Average wage gaps do not represent the compensation of women compared to men in specific jobs, because they average all full-time men and women in the population, rather than comparing men and women in the same jobs with the same experience. Data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics that women earned 80 cents for every dollar that men earned in 2008 and in 2009, using full-time median weekly earnings, ignore fundamental differences between jobs, experience, and hours worked,” the report states.

“If we compare wages of men and women who work 40 hours a week, without accounting for any differences in jobs, training, or time in the labor force, Labor Department data show the gender wage ratio increases to 86 percent.”

“When the wage gap is analyzed by individual occupations, jobs and employee characteristics, regional labor markets, job titles, job responsibility, and experience, then the wage gap shrinks even more. When these differences are considered, many studies show that men and women make about the same. For instance, a 2009 study by the economics consulting firm CONSAD Research Corporation, prepared for the Labor Department, shows that women make around 94% of what men make. The remaining six cents are due to unexplained variables, one of which might be discrimination,” the report finds.

“Dozens of studies on the gender wage gap that attempt to measure ‘discrimination’ have been published in academic journals in the past two decades. Unlike the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which uses simple mathematical tools to calculate the wage ratio, these studies use an econometric technique called regression analysis to measure contributing effects of all factors that could plausibly explain the wage gap.”

“At a time when the unemployment rate is above 9 percent and almost 15 million Americans are out of work, the Paycheck Fairness Act would impose substantial new burdens on employers that would encourage hiring overseas and discourage hiring in America,” Furchtgott-Roth warns.  “As the Washington Post concluded in a recent editorial, ‘Discrimination is abhorrent, but the Paycheck Fairness Act is not the right fix.’”

President Obama supports passage of the Act.  His Office of Budget and Management released a statement on Tuesday in full support of the legislation, hoping for change in what the Administration perceives as widespread conditions of gender and race biases in workplaces nationwide.

“The persistent gap between men’s and women’s wages demonstrates the need for legislative change.  This bill would address this gap by enhancing enforcement of equal pay laws. Specifically, it would prohibit retaliation against employees who ask about or discuss wage information, and it would provide more effective remedies for women subjected to discriminatory pay practices.  S. 3772 would strengthen the Equal Pay Act by closing judicially created loopholes in the law and bringing its class action rules into conformity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.  S. 3772 also requires the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to collect pay data to better enforce laws prohibiting pay discrimination,” the statement reads.

One senior GOP leadership aide told HUMAN EVENTS that Democrats are expected to fall just short of the necessary 60 votes required to move the legislation forward.

Stay tuned.

Bjorn Lomborg: Government Plans to Stop Global Warming Won’t Work

Posted by iusbvision on November 13, 2010

‘The Skeptical Environmentalist’ author Bjorn Lomborg argues global warming exists, but policies to improve the environment wont make a significant impact.

Right now there is a huge argument about whether man has a significant impact of climate change, of course those who argue “no” have been winning that argument as a result of massive widespread fraud among the pro-alarmist position on global warming; so much so that more and more scientists have/are reversing positions or have admitted that much of the science was just wrong, not documented properly, tampered with or just plain manufactured.

Bjorn Lomborg took an interesting approach: Let’s presume that man has had an impact on global warming, what will the results be if man implements the plans that governments have laid out. He concluded that governments will get much more powerful and have all sorts of control, the economy will be severely burdened, people’s quality of life will suffer and if we are lucky the globe will warm one hundredth of one degree less.

When the threat was global cooling the answer was to dump capitalism and freedom and have centralized control of our economy and when the shtick became global warming the answer is to dump capitalism and freedom and have centralized control of our economy.
