Donald Rumsfeld’s “Parade of Horribles”

Posted by iusbvision on March 4, 2011

Donald Rumsfeld

I now have a better understanding of why the services of Donald Rumsfeld have always been in great demand.

It is well known that during the the early days of the Iraq War mistakes were made, what is less known is that Donald Rumsfeld predicted most of them. Other elements of the Bush Administration either did not take those warnings as seriously as they could have, or plan as effectively as possible in light of his warnings.

Advance Indiana:

Indianapolis Graduation Rate Second Worst In The Nation

Indianapolis officially scores the designation of having the second worst graduation rate among the nation’s 50 leading cities. “Seventeen of the nation’s 50 largest cities had high school graduation rates lower than 50 percent, with the lowest graduation rates reported in Detroit, Indianapolis and Cleveland, according to a report released Tuesday,” the AP’s Ken Thomas reports. Detroit finished last with a graduation rate of 24.9%. Indianapolis finished 49th with a 30.5% graduation rate, finishing just head of 48th-ranked Cleveland with a 34.1% graduation rate. Oh well, Mark Miles says our chances of winning the 2012 Super Bowl are real good. Why worry about a silly report like this?

Sebelius Cracks! Admits the Obamacare Books Were Cooked! Admits to Double Counting Half Trillion Dollars!

Posted by iusbvision on March 4, 2011

Via Fox Nation:

The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to swing by and have a little chin wag about the budgetary implications of ObamaCare. Representative John Shimkus (R-IL) noticed that the rather large sum of $500 billion was dedicated to both sustaining Medicare and funding ObamaCare. When he asked Sebelius which destiny awaited those five hundred billion clams, she replied, “Both.”

That’s right, folks: another part of the ObamaCare fraud involved double-counting half a trillion dollars. Shimkus said he was “shocked” to learn this. “We knew the health care law’s actual cost was much greater than originally told to the public,” he declared. “And now, the truth is slowly coming out in administration reports and testimony.”

Police: Girl Ran Away to Avoid Arranged Marriage

Posted by iusbvision on March 4, 2011

This is all contrived. The parents were planning on sending this 13 year old girl to Pakistan for an arranged Islamic marriage.

The child ran away and was found safe and is in protective custody. Police say the family mislead investigators about planned trip to Pakistan. This is why certain political and cultural aspects of Sharia should be made a felony.

Government Union Collective Bargaining 101 – UPDATE O’Reilly: New York Times publishing bogus polls about unions and lying about the budget crisis

Posted by iusbvision on March 4, 2011

How government union collective bargaining works.

What FDR understood and what the left does not want you to figure out is that “The Man” is the taxpayer because with Democrats in charge government unions are essentially negotiating with themselves, it is not adversarial at all, and the politicians are not negotiating to preserve their own money, they are negotiating (wink wink, nod nod) with YOUR money.

Video: Gov. Rick Perry and Speaker John Boehner go “On The Record”

Posted by iusbvision on March 4, 2011

Rick Perry talks Wisconsin, leadership, budgets, Obama, Americans killed in Mexico, cartel violence, and the border mess.

Also this video shows just how powerful a false elite media narrative can be. When Fox first started reporting this story they correctly reported that collective bargaining inst being stripped, it is just being limited on the benefit packages. Now some on Fox and Fox news Radio is saying the Democrat talking point, “stripping unions of collective bargaining” which is just not the case. This is crucial because even though the union has made a concession that it will pay a tiny fraction into their top of the line health and retirement benefits, without the new restriction it will just be undone and the next round of collective bargaining, or reversed and bumped up even more at such a time when the next Democrat governor is elected. We have seen the concessions movie before. Notice at about 3:30 in the interview Greta corrects herself.

You see here is the rub, Democrat governors can promise the world to these government unions who will in turn pump money into democrat campaigns, but when these union people retire like in Illinois where state workers are leaving with 10 million dollar retirements the states go broke and that governor is left holding the bag [note – and unions complain about disgraced CEO’s getting million dollar packages…]. This is exactly the situation that Illinois and New Jersey (and likely California)  are in right now.

Governor Christie went into the union halls in New Jersey and told them to their face:

[paraphrasing for brevity]Almost every governor you guys voted for in the last 20 years came in here and lied to your face by telling you that the state could afford these massive benefit packages. They knew they would not be in office when the day of reckoning came due, well now it has. The day of reckoning has come and I am the guy left holding the bag. I can tell you that in order to make sure you get a pension and have something you can count on we have to make some changes or it is just not going to be there. I am sorry that you were lied to, but respectfully you guys shouldn’t be booing me, as I am the first guy who came in to this hall and told you the truth.

Speaker John Boehner

This is a very good interview. Those who are interested in politics get a bit of an insider’s view of what it is like to be Speaker.

Speaker Boehner talks budgets, deficits, and his realization that like Gov. Christie, that the day of reckoning has come. We cannot do business as usual and expect to survive as a country and much of the Democrat leadership has not figured this out.

Speaker Boehner on Obama’s decision to just not enforce certain laws it doesn’t like like DOMA, border violence, Wisconsin, Ohio and more.
