Captain Kirk Celebrates 80th Birthday

James Tiberius Kirk was born and raised in Riverside, Iowa in the year 2233. Funny, it seems like it was just yesterday.
Kirk’s parents were George and Winona Kirk. Although born on Earth, Kirk for a time lived on Tarsus IV, where he was one of nine surviving witnesses to the massacre of 4,000 colonists by Kodos the Executioner. James Kirk’s brother George Samuel Kirk was killed in “Operation: Annihilate!”, leaving behind three children.
At Starfleet Academy, Kirk became the only student to defeat the Kobayashi Maru test, garnering a commendation for original thinking by reprogramming the computer to make the “no-win scenario” winnable. At Starfleet Academy Kirk was a student instructor whose fellow students accused him of being “a stack of books with legs”. Kirk graduated in the top five percent of his class. Kirk became Starfleet’s youngest captain when he received command of the USS Enterprise for a five-year mission and has been saving the galaxy ever since.
Aside from many noted military, exploratory, scientific and diplomatic accomplishments, Kirk had a critical role in the Federation/Klingon peace process. He also is the author of Starfleet Directive Omega (link2), which is the only known protocol that supersedes the Prime Directive.
