Man of the Year: Hideaki Akaiwa

Posted by iusbvision on March 25, 2011

Hideaki Akaiwa

Who do you call when you need a hero? No McGuyver, no Bruce Banner, no Tony Stark, no John Rambo? Who needs em’. You call this guy. Ishinomaki, Japan was creamed by the tsunami. Akaiwa had gotten off work and was on his way home when it hit. Hi wife of 20 years was at home and so was his mother. When he got to the waterline he saw his town buried under at least 10 feet of water. An ordinary man would not know what to do, or would shout for help or panic or just collapse. Hideaki Akaiwa is no ordinary man. He made his way to a scuba shop that was abandoned but not swept away. He loaded up on scuba gear and as darkness was coming soon, he jumped in the water.  Dodging cars and debris he swam underwater with the breathing apparatus. Akaiwa makes it to his home where he finds his wife at the top level of their damaged home with just her head above water.

They share his breathing apparatus and he drags her underwater back to safety.

Wow pretty cool, not the average guy to be sure, but you didn’t think the story ended there did you?

His mother is still missing, they check the packs of survivors and the shelters because she wasn’t home at the time the tsunami hit. No luck. With thousands missing and dead one might think it was just too late for his mother. Not this guy. For days he dove into the water swimming from structure to structure and on the fourth day he finds his mother on the upper level of a tall house and drags her to safety.

This one’s for you.

Gov. Chris Christie To Public Sector Union Worker: We Can’t Afford To Pay Ninety Percent Of Your Health Care Anymore

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

Rush Limbaugh comments as well. This is a must see.

“The top 1% of income payers pay 41% of all state income tax. We already have the highest taxes in America and the neighbor who lives next door to you who works in the private sector, is already paying much more for his health care than you are for yours and they are paying the taxes to pay for yours on top of it.”

Christie didn’t even mention that public sector employees tend to make much more than those in the private sector as well. The simple truth is that government employees have been pretty much shielded from the pain of this recession. They have been promised pay and benefits by Democrats who left office years ago that government just cant afford and they knew it.

Sarah Palin: Why Is It That the US Often Tells Israel That They Need to Back Off?

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

Terrorists go into Israel and cut the throats of an entire family and the people in Gaza are dancing in the streets.

Hamas is launching rockets against Israeli civilians again.

Hamas set off another bomb in Israel.

Check out the video’s on the web site and at and you will see Hamas state run TV using kids cartoon dubs and such to teach hate, genocide, killing Jews etc. There is no way to negotiate with people like that.

If Cuba launched rockets at us for 20 minutes, we would make it into the 51st state. They have been launching them at Israel for 20 years and still Israel shows so much restraint that its enemies are not deterred.

The entire interview is here. Sarah goes in-depth into several policy areas here so if that is something you care about be sure to watch:

UPDATE – Israel boarded a ship headed for Gaza with 50 tons of weapons, including six Iranian made anti-ship missiles of Chinese design.

Another antisemite is revealed in the White House.

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

This time it is the wife of Cass Sunstien. Sunstien works in the White House and his wife sits on Obama’s National Security Council.

On tape she  came out against Israel and wants us to fund Hamas/Palestinians.

Of course any private business in Hamas controlled territory will vanish because money is power and Hamas, like the PLO, will not have their power challenged. That is why Arafat killed off most of the business leaders as “Israeli collaborators” when he took power.

Glenn Beck blasted the administration again for turning against Israel. This is exactly the kind of thing that VP Biden promised would not happen.

Thousands of Christians Displaced in Ethiopia After Muslim Extremists Torch Churches, Homes

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

Fox News:

Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes in Western Ethiopia after Muslim extremists set fire to roughly 50 churches and dozens of Christian homes.

At least one Christian has been killed, many more have been injured and anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 have been displaced in the attacks that began March 2 after a Christian in the community of Asendabo was accused of desecrating the Koran.

The violence escalated to the point that federal police forces sent to the area two weeks ago were initially overwhelmed by the mobs. Government spokesman Shimelis Kemal told Voice of America police reinforcements had since restored order and 130 suspects had been arrested and charged with instigating religious hatred and violence.

Reminder: The “popular” and “hip” RT is actually Russia Today. Anti-Western, anti-democratic & antisemitic.

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

You hear about reporters who are killed, tortured, or just vanish in Russia by Putin’s goons. RT will never have that problem. RT is perhaps the best and most effective anti-western propaganda on the net.

My research specialty in college was attitude change propaganda and no one does it better than Russia Today.

RT often isn’t news, it is entertainment propaganda. It looks great, the women are hot, it has a slick presentation with top notch production value. Notice how the screen changes every few seconds (MTV style) to keep young peoples eyes peeled. The content is designed to deliver an attitude with only a few facts that create a propaganda narrative. The piece not so subtlety pushes the entire “Jewish Conspiracy” angle pushed by supremacists, skinheads, and militant Islamists.

Cynthia McKinney is shown as a credible legislator and presidential candidate. The very young and those around the world have no idea that she is a full blown antisemite who is considered too nutty to be taken seriously even by her own party. The events form the last few days about Palestinians dancing in the streets over a young family being murdered by terrorists, rockets being fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians, a bombing in Israel and yet none of that is in this report. The report makes it seem that Israel is the big mean aggressor and those “wascally wepublicans” are in league with them.

How the EU Makes a Law – Stalin Would Be Proud

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

Do you think that politicians who brutally critique the EU are over the top? If you do you are about to change your mind.

First of all 5/6th of all laws in member countries such as England are directives from the EU. EU courts can overrule member nation courts.

When member states had referendums on the EU there were commercials lying to the people saying that the vote was just about a trade agreement creating a European Common Market. This was a lie as it was so much more as you are about to see. Ever since that time the governments of those who voted no (France etc) went ahead with it anyway. In Ireland where the referendum lost the EU said that Ireland will vote over and over again until it passes and that after it does pass there will be no more referendums. So Ireland did just that. The EU outspent the UKIP and the EU Democracy Group 10 to 1 and yet the state sponsored media accused UKIP of nosing into the votes of other countries and of trying to buy the vote. Ireland even broke its own laws when it comes to equal time when it came to the vote. Now the EU takes very careful steps to see to it that it does nothing that could trigger a referendum in other member states.

The problem is that in many EU member states such as England, until recently they did not have political parties that were interested in limiting the power of the state. The conservative party in England moved far to the left after Margaret Thatcher retired. We often here how the Democrats here in the United States are a socialist/corporatist leviathan state party and how the Republicans are socialist/corporatist light party and while these claims are slightly exaggerated for political effect, in Europe these claims are a genuine understatement.

The EU is in essence rule by bureaucracy and like government bureaucrats seeks to rule in secret to avoid public accountability or scrutiny.

So how does it work.

Step 1:

27 unelected commissars  are appointed and each member state gets a member to represent them. They are not elected and most people have no idea who they are. When they decide that they want to pass a law they meet in secret and make a rough outline for what they want the law (called a directive) to be.

Step 2:

The rough outline for the directive is sent to the Committee of Permanent Representatives which meets in secret (less chance of people rising up against it you see). They are not elected and no one outside of the bureaucratic elite knows who all of them are. Until recently they were not even mentioned on the EU web site. The only reason the group even gets a slight mention is because UKIP and the EU Democracy Group in the EU Parliament had a fit about it.

The Committee of Permanent Representatives does the markup session on the bill (directive) and makes it sound legally neat and tidy, but they hold no hearings, after all what is the point of hearings when you meet in secret? If this committee decided the proposed directive is dumb they can just ignore it and stop it right there.

Step 3:

The marked up and formatted bill is send to the Conference of Ministers, who is also not elected, and who also meets in secret, decides if they will accept the it or not (sensing a pattern yet)? With all of this secrecy and all of this bureaucracy how can anyone be held accountable? If something goes bad who is a finger pointed at? Finger pointing is next to impossible which is by design. By the way some of the known members of these various super committees are former Soviet era apparatchiks.

Step 4:

The directive is sent to the EU Parliament to a vote. The EU is elected and has meetings out in the open. They can vote yes or no, but if they vote no it becomes a law anyways. The EU Parliament is powerless to stop these directives nor can it amend or change them in anyway. This is like a school board when it wants to adopt “Outcome Based Education” to get the federal grant even though it has proven to lower test scored and be a failure in general; it has parental input meetings which mean nothing and will not change anything, but are made to provide the illusion of public input.

Step 5:

The directive (law) is sent to the member nations to have the local parliaments rubber stamp them which the larger parties in England usually do as there has been very little difference between them since Lady Thatcher retired. If the member nation’s parliament votes no, too bad, they enforce it anyways. If the member nation moves to actively resist such enforcement they are fined. The member nation can refuse to pay them, for now, but they have regulatory ways to suck money out of a member state anyways.

All is not lost. The Freedom & Democracy Caucus in the EU Parliament has been steadily growing and according to pills the UK Independence Party (UKIP) according to polls will leap to the second most powerful party in England in the upcoming elections. The best way to describe UKIP is the Tea Party of England accept their leadership is a bit more centralized and incredibly brilliant (I am not saying the Tea Party people are dumb, but rather that the UKIP leadership is a group of people who have incredible political savvy and candle power. UKIP Ideologically would closest resemble economic freedom wing of the Republican Party, but with more tolerance for collective action than many Republicans, the Tea Party’s zeal for popular sovereignty and process, and a Chris Christie like attitude. UKIP is devoutly anti-communist.

UKIP started out as a one man protest. That man is Nigel Farage a small businessman from London. When he realized what was going on he stood up and started giving speeches. He got in the reporters faces. he challenged his opponents to debates, and quite foolishly those opponents accepted that challenge and in debate after debate were rhetorically dismantled by Farage. His movement has grown and is now the UKIP which will be taking the UK Parliament by storm in the upcoming elections. Nigel Farage is Europe’s Sam Adams.

[Editor’s Note – While the elite media has been pushing nuclear dooms day scenarios that were false, in general they have not given proper play to just how bad the disaster is as we have all seen. Conservatives have been pushing for people to donate and have praised the spirit of the Japanese people. Did anyone notice that in Japan there is no looting. The Atlantic Magazine which is a far left outfit that recycles many of the lies from Media Matters and presents it as its own work has said that Conservatives are praising the Japanese because conservatives are racist. “Anti-Hate” group that protested councilwoman for criticizing Islam turns out to be Muslim Brotherhood front group.

Posted by iusbvision on March 23, 2011

It is called Taqiyya, deception. Preach peace, love and tolerance while attacking anyone who would critique Sharia Law or the other parts of Islam that are anti-American and anti-civilization.

The Islamic Circle is such a group, like CAIR, which documents obtained by the FBI among other evidence shows that this Islamic Circle group you will see in the video below, is in fact a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest and oldest radical Islamic group in the world, whose founding goes back to the Grand Mufti in WWII. This group wanted to help Hitler to carry out “the final solution” against the Jews.

To see the evidence about the Islamic Circle you can get the narrative, filled with links and the documents themselves right HERE.

[Editor’s Note – Notice that the anchor said that the councilwoman made statements about Muslims. No she didn’t. She made a statement about Islam itself, which is a theo-political, legal and cultural belief system. This is another example of reporters just making dumb mistakes.]

Islam is not a religion of peace, a statement I will be happy to debate anytime. Most Muslims do not take their religion to militant levels of seriousness, but since he Koran, the Hadith and Islamic precedent are what they are we cannot be afraid to acknowledge that many of the militant groups are interpreting these documents correctly. We also cannot forget the lesson of Lebanon. Lebanon was a modern Christian country. When Islamists started coming in many Christians wanted it stopped, but they insisted that they were about peace, love, democracy and “social justice”. The numbers continued to grow. It was not long before Christians were being killed, and the Islamist numbers grew to the point where they started to get power in the government. Anyone who wanted to slow down the immigration was dealt with by the tactics you see in this video above into silence, or otherwise eliminated. Now look at what has happened. Within a few short years the Christians are out of power, being slaughtered and many had to flee. Then Lebanon started launching missiles against Israel.

Now Lebanon is a Iranian satellite state controlled by Hezbollah. These same tactics were used the 70’s in Iran. Jimmy carter and Zbignew Brzezinski were so fooled that they helped the Mullahs come to power. The same tactics have been used in Egypt where now it seems that the Muslim Brotherhood may take over the country, and Obama helped them by helping them force Mubarak out. The same tactic is bing used in Sweden and France and England. All of these countries are having problems with Islamic Rape gangs targeting young girls. Those who speak out against the gangs in Europe get the treatment you saw in that video, and these militant Islamists combined with their allies on the radical left have set up the hate crime laws and their biased enforcement to makes it dangerous for others to speak out against them.

If any doubt me just ask Lebanon survivor Brigitte Gabriele, former PLO terrorist Walid Shoebat, the scholar Robert Spencer, or the heroic Ayaan Hirsi Ali and they can tell you first hand.

Video: Nigel Farage vs Sarkozy

Posted by iusbvision on March 23, 2011

Sarkozy is smooth. Of that there is little doubt. So smooth he can say something with an attitude that makes you feel one way, while the substance of it actually means the opposite. Politicians by their nature are great at this sort of thing. Unfortunately for Mr. Sarkozy, Nigel Farage has a B.S. detector that is always at the top of its game.

If you respect things like procedure and popular sovereignty you will enjoy this smack-down.

Yet Another “Stupid Public School Administrators Illegally Discriminate Against Christian Student and Get Themselves Sued” Case

Posted by iusbvision on March 23, 2011

This is why FIRE is working to get the laws and case law changed on issues like this to strip immunity form public officials who know darn well they are breaking the law and just dig in their heals because they know the taxpayer is flipping the bill.

Nutty administrators who do this should lose a few years salary when they do something this foolish and then maybe more would have respect for the law.

Alliance Defense Fund:

ADF is international now. In the next case the German government jailed parents for pulling their child out of a graphic sex ed class. This is a violation  of human rights conventions and treaties Germany has signed onto and promised to uphold.

Remember when we wrote about this case from U. C. Davis? In this case they actually wrote in their campus speech code that it is not OK to religiously discriminate against anyone, except Christians as they are the dominant culture oppressors. Only on a college campus can you find people this stupid.

Now UC Davis will have to go back to selectively enforcing and breaking the rules to discriminate against Christians, how sad for them.

Dallas Federal Reserve Bank Chair: US Approaching Insolvency, Fix To Be ‘Painful’

Posted by iusbvision on March 23, 2011

Democrats are calling 1.5% cuts “draconian” and that is after tripling deficit spending since 2008 and 6.5 times over 2007.

The United States is on a fiscal path towards insolvency and policymakers are at a “tipping point,” a Federal Reserve official said on Tuesday.

“If we continue down on the path on which the fiscal authorities put us, we will become insolvent, the question is when,” Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Richard Fisher said in a question and answer session after delivering a speech at the University of Frankfurt. “The short-term negotiations are very important, I look at this as a tipping point.”

Leftist conference of unions, students, legislators and leftist community groups: How we will disrupt capital and create economic uncertainty. How we can create a new financial crisis, bring down the stock market….

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

UPDATE  – Steven Lerner, the man in the video overtly plotting a new economic crisis, has visited the White House four times as well as the Treasury Department!!!

Steve Lerner SEIU

Watch this video:

Longer tape of this conversation:

Transcript and full article at Business Insider:

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Former SEIU Official Reveals Secret Plan To Destroy JP Morgan, Crash The Stock Market, And Redistribute Wealth In America

A former official of one of the country’s most-powerful unions, SEIU, has a secret plan to “destabilize” the country.

The plan is designed to destroy JP Morgan, nuke the stock market, and weaken Wall Street’s grip on power, thus creating the conditions necessary for a redistribution of wealth and a change in government.

The former SEIU official, Stephen Lerner, spoke in a closed session at a Pace University forum last weekend.

UPDATE I – Glenn Beck: This is a clear case of economic terrorism – LINK.

UPDATE II – SEIU sued under RICO statute (Via The Blaze):

Cockroaches, bugs, mold, and flies. These are just some of the props and rumors allegedly employed by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) against the American unit of French catering company Sodexo. And the company’s had enough.

Fed up with tactics that include intimidation, extortion, and yes, sabotage that apparently includes plastic cockroaches, Sodexo filed a lawsuit against the SEIU last week under the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

“We work constructively with unions every day but the SEIU has crossed the line by breaking the law,” Robert Stern, general counsel for Sodexo USA, said in a statement. “We will not tolerate the SEIU’s tactics any longer.”

SEIU has been fighting to represent 80,000 hourly Sodexo employees, which is above and beyond the 180,000 hourly employees who are already union members. The union regularly stages protests against the company to make its point, like this one last fall on the campus of George Mason University. The video alleges SEIU bused in protesters, who can be heard chanting, among other things, “As long as it takes, whatever it takes, we’ll be in your face!”

Sodexo’s complaint, filed in federal court in Alexandria, VA, alleges acts of SEIU blackmail, vandalism, trespass, harassment, and lobbying law violations designed to steer business away from, and harm, the company.

And just what exactly might those acts look like? Sodexo gives the details:

The complaint alleges that the SEIU, in face to face meetings, threatened Sodexo USA’s executives that it would harm Sodexo USA’s business unless they gave in to the union, and then carried out its threats through egregious behavior, including:

  • throwing plastic roaches onto food being served by Sodexo USA at a high profile event;
  • scaring hospital patients by insinuating that Sodexo USA food contained bugs, rat droppings, mold and flies;
  • lying to interfere with Sodexo USA business and sneaking into elementary schools to avoid security;
  • violating lobbying laws to steer business away from Sodexo USA, even at the risk of costing Sodexo USA employees their jobs; and
  • harassing Sodexo USA employees by threatening to accuse them of wrongdoing.

The complaint, filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia, seeks an injunction against the SEIU and its locals and executives, as well as monetary damages to be determined by the court.

NEWSWEEK gave 1,000 Americans the U.S. Citizenship Test–38% failed.

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

Ironically, the article blames not enough central control of schools pointing the finger at a,  “decentralized education system” that relies on the states, and “market-driven programming.”

The truth, many Western European countries have school choice. What do you expect, this IS Newsweek after all.

They’re the sort of scores that drive high-school history teachers to drink. When NEWSWEEK recently asked 1,000 U.S. citizens to take America’s official citizenship test, 29 percent couldn’t name the vice president. Seventy-three percent couldn’t correctly say why we fought the Cold War. Forty-four percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights. And 6 percent couldn’t even circle Independence Day on a calendar.

To appreciate the risks involved, it’s important to understand where American ignorance comes from. In March 2009, theEuropean Journal of Communication asked citizens of Britain, Denmark, Finland, and the U.S. to answer questions on international affairs. The Europeans clobbered us. Sixty-eight percent of Danes, 75 percent of Brits, and 76 percent of Finns could, for example, identify the Taliban, but only 58 percent of Americans managed to do the same—even though we’ve led the charge in Afghanistan. It was only the latest in a series of polls that have shown us lagging behind our First World peers.

The Bully Victim Who Fought Back – Exclusive ACA Interview with Casey Heynes

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

If the school has a zero tolerance policy for violence where was the school when he was being hit and kicked and tied to a pole? Administrators do not want to admit that such things go on in their school, and since the victim is often isolated anyways it is easier to blame him, dismiss him and ignore the zero tolerance policy as long as he is the victim and pretend it isn’t happening. If there was ever a case against govt bureaucrats running schools this is it.

Now the government is considering a form of the Clery Act for grade schools. I fear this may do more harm than good. Universities now do what they can to not report crimes, convince people not to press charges, take down video cameras in university parking garages etc so that they will have less to report. Schools will not want to report bullying to the government, so the incentive will be to paint the victim as the instigator and a liar.

Says one commenter:

The skinny kid hit him repeatedly, the heroic part is Casey not beating him into a bloody pulp after the slam. If you can’t see that, you are willfully blind or more likely just an idiot.

Obama pushed Brazil to drill more, promises aid to Brazil to help drill. While at home imposes drilling ban.

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

Obama is doing this for three reasons.

1 – Who is a big investor in Brazilian oil? George Soros, who is likely the single largest contributor to far left causes.

2 – Like many leftist academics Obama believes that America’s wealth needs to be redistributed around the world. So as long as we buy foreign energy that is our money leaving the country.

3 – Energy companies usually tend to favor Republicans when it comes to donations. An exception to that is British Petroleum which is 45% the former Amoco.

Energy Policy: While leaving U.S. oil and jobs in the ground, our itinerant president tells a South American neighbor that we’ll help it develop its offshore resources so we can one day import its oil. WHAT?!?

With Japan staggered by a natural disaster and a nuclear crisis, cruise missiles launched against Libya in our third Middle East conflict and a majority of U.S. senators complaining about a lack of leadership on the budget, President Obama decided it would be a good time to schmooze with Brazilians.

His “What, me worry?” presidency has given both Americans and our allies plenty to worry about. But in the process of making nice with Brazil, Obama made a mind-boggling announcement that should make even his most loyal supporter cringe:

We will help Brazil develop its offshore oil so we can one day import it.

We have noted this double standard before, particularly when — at a time when the president was railing against tax incentives for U.S. oil companies — we supported the U.S. Export-Import Bank’s plan to lend $2 billion to Brazil’s state-run Petrobras with the promise of more to follow.

Now, with a seven-year offshore drilling ban in effect off of both coasts, on Alaska’s continental shelf and in much of the Gulf of Mexico — and a de facto moratorium covering the rest — Obama tells the Brazilians:

“We want to help you with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely. And when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers.”

Obama wants to develop Brazilian offshore oil to help the Brazilian economy create jobs for Brazilian workers while Americans are left unemployed in the face of skyrocketing energy prices by an administration that despises fossil fuels as a threat to the environment and wants to increase our dependency on foreign oil.

Obama said he chose Brazil to kick off his first-ever visit to South America in recognition of that country’s ascendancy. He has also highlighted one of the reasons for America’s decline — an energy policy that through the creation of an artificial shortage of fossil fuels makes prices “necessarily skyrocket” to foster his green energy agenda.

In an op-ed in USA Today explaining his trip, Obama opined: “Brazil holds recently discovered oil reserves that could be far larger than ours. And as we seek to increase secure-energy supplies, we look forward to developing a strategic energy partnership.”

Read the War Powers Act – Some on TV Not Being Honest

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

Via Bob Schneider National Security expert for Reagan (and others): BTW, there is rhetoric flying about the War Powers Act, and some of the rhetoric is almost true… ,but here is the WPA, feel free to read.

So here is the War Powers Resolution.

Pay special attention to the reporting requirements. The bottom line is that the President, depending on certain circumstances, has at least 30 days with Congressional authority to do almost anything he likes with the military.

So when Dennis Kuscinich and Ron Paul says that the Libya operation is unconstitutional they are incorrect.

Captain Kirk Celebrates 80th Birthday

Posted by iusbvision on March 22, 2011

James Tiberius Kirk was born and raised in Riverside, Iowa in the year 2233. Funny, it seems like it was just yesterday.

Kirk’s parents were George and Winona Kirk. Although born on Earth, Kirk for a time lived on Tarsus IV, where he was one of nine surviving witnesses to the massacre of 4,000 colonists by Kodos the Executioner. James Kirk’s brother George Samuel Kirk was killed in “Operation: Annihilate!”, leaving behind three children.

At Starfleet Academy, Kirk became the only student to defeat the Kobayashi Maru test, garnering a commendation for original thinking by reprogramming the computer to make the “no-win scenario” winnable. At Starfleet Academy Kirk was a student instructor whose fellow students accused him of being “a stack of books with legs”. Kirk graduated in the top five percent of his class. Kirk became Starfleet’s youngest captain when he received command of the USS Enterprise for a five-year mission and has been saving the galaxy ever since.

Aside from many noted military, exploratory, scientific and diplomatic accomplishments, Kirk had a critical role in the Federation/Klingon peace process. He also is the author of Starfleet Directive Omega (link2), which is the only known protocol that supersedes the Prime Directive.

Happy 80th!

Tammy Bruce on Sarah Palin India/Israel trip

Posted by iusbvision on March 21, 2011

The press in both India and Israel was very positive. No matter what you think about Sarah Palin this trip helped her and served her well. Her prepared comments were well done and policy substantive, which, as Tammy points out, explains the American elite media brownout on the coverage. The conference in India can be seen HERE. Transcript HERE.

Nigel Farage of the UKIP has had enough: Goes nuclear on corrupt EU officials

Posted by iusbvision on March 21, 2011

While most Americans are not aware of it, the EU has become expensive, wasteful, and more undemocratic.  It is becoming a regulatory leviathan rife with corruption and power hungry genuine Maoists and other communists rising to the top. I wish I could say I was exaggerating. The EU is becoming a mess and the discontent is on the rise.

This is a series of six short videos.

By the way, if you thought that Chris Christie is tough, wait till you see this guy.

The EU pushes for proposals and is trying to impose limits on sovereignty without a democratic process. They create offices and insert bureaucrats with power given to them that no one votes for and no one knows who they are. Many of which end up being former communist bloc apparatchiks. MEP Farage gets so upset in this video going after one of these new made up office holders that he gets a bit personal, but in Euro politics this is much more widely accepted. Notice how Farage directly insults certain leftists, they object, which gives him the excuse to remind them of the horrible names that they have called the opposition to the Lisbon Treaty. Irony has a special beauty, especially when it leads you to the front door of hypocrisy. Which leads Farage right back to the undemocratic ways that the EU operates. It is not always fun to watch someone get insulted, but I encourage you to get through this as the end wraps it all together quite well intellectually.

Bureaucracy vs Democracy

Untold millions are suffering for your EU State dream to continue…

Obama vs. Obama on War Justification

Posted by iusbvision on March 21, 2011

Remember this:

But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history.

Or this:

What I am opposed to is the attempt by political hacks like Karl Rove to distract us from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income – to distract us from corporate scandals and a stock market that has just gone through the worst month since the Great Depression.

More at Verum Serum.

UPDATE – Human Events has some fun:

UPDATE II –  Mona Charen Blasts Obama’s Hypocrisy

In the Democratic primary campaign of 2008, candidate Barack Obama scored points because he, unlike many Democrats, had opposed the Iraq War from the start. Though a state senator at the time of the 2002 congressional vote authorizing military action, Obama had delivered a speech to an anti-war rally in Chicago.

He said, “I don’t oppose all wars … What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair weekend warriors in this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne.”

Regarding the justifications for war with Iraq, state Sen. Obama was unpersuaded: “I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted U.N. inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity … But … Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors …”

As American forces join the war against Moammar Gadhafi, the nation is entitled to an explanation. How is the case for war against Gadhafi smarter (remember, Obama is only against “dumb” wars) or less “ideological” or more prudent than that for war against Saddam Hussein?

Certainly, with an army of only 50,000, Gadhafi represents far less of a threat to his neighbors or to us than did Saddam, who commanded an army estimated at 350,000. As for humanitarian concerns, what Gadhafi is doing to the rebels in Libya is exactly what Saddam did to his domestic enemies, but on a reduced scale. As Obama himself said, Saddam was “a ruthless man … who butchers his own people to secure his power.” Yet that didn’t justify a war, state Sen. Obama told us.

Sen. Obama did not believe that Saddam posed a danger to the United States or to his neighbors — though he had attacked or invaded three of his neighbors: Iran, Kuwait, and Israel. Yet Gadhafi has hardly ranged beyond his own borders.

Arab League criticizes allied airstrikes on Libya, AFTER asking UN and the West to impose a no fly zone.

Posted by iusbvision on March 20, 2011

A new fly zone doesn’t just mean making sure nothing flies, it also means taking out all air defenses so those imposing the no fly zone are at the smallest risk.

CAIRO (AP) — The head of the Arab League has criticized international strikes on Libya, saying they caused civilian deaths.

The Arab League’s support for a no-fly zone last week helped overcome reluctance in the West for action in Libya. The U.N. authorized not only a no-fly zone but also “all necessary measures” to protect civilians.

Amr Moussa says the military operations have gone beyond what the Arab League backed.

Moussa has told reporters Sunday that “what happened differs from the no-fly zone objectives.” He says “what we want is civilians’ protection not shelling more civilians.”

U.S. and European strikes overnight targeted mainly air defenses, the U.S. military said. Libya says 48 people were killed, including civilians.

Enforce a no fly zone and take out certain armored elements, do all of that without scratching the paint. OK Arab league, how about we pull out and YOU show us how it’s done.

They are doing this to please radicalized elements of the Arab street who were angered by their governments asking for help.
