Ohio Business Owner Shot For Being Non-Union

Posted by iusbvision on August 16, 2011

If you are non-union or in a large metro area getting armed and trained is becoming more prudent.

Our friends at Red State report:

With around 25 employees, John King owns one of the largest non-union electrical contracting businesses in the Toledo, Ohio area. As a non-union contractor, his business happens to be doing well at a time when unions in the construction industry are suffering. This, it seems, has made the usual animosity unions have for him even greater, making him a prime target of union thugs. So much so, that one of them tried to kill him last week at his home.

John King didn’t plan on being an enemy of unions. In fact, he says all he’s ever wanted to do is work at something he loves doing and be successful at it—something that most normal Americans would call ‘The American Dream.’

After high school and some college, Mr. King briefly worked for an IBEW contractor before being drafted into the military. Following his service in the early 70s, King became his own boss by going into business as the youngest electrical contractor in Toledo.

Over the years, King Electrical Services had always been a small business. However, during the Great Recession, King’s business has actually improved as his union competitors have priced themselves out of work.

Unfortunately, being a non-union electrical company, King has always been on the radar of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). In fact, in 2006, he won a significant case against the IBEW at the US Court of Appeals, after the union had improperly promised his electricians jobs on union sites if they voted the union into King’s company.

Since he’s been in business, in addition to the legal battles and verbal abuse, King’s company has been vandalized and threatened on numerous occasions.

“Back then, it was nothing to have to regularly buy a new set of tires.” King said during a telephone interview on Tuesday. “The ice pick was the weapon of choice.”

Until Wednesday, the worst of the union attacks on King and his business came in the mid-eighties during the UAW strike at AP Parts. During a lull during the lengthy strike, King’s business was picketed by more than 50 IBEW picketers. This was at a time when he only had eight or nine employees. One of his employees, whose car was trashed by the union picketers, was also beaten up by IBEW thugs.

Unfortunately, the vandalism has never stopped. This year alone, he’s had to report three incidents of damage to police. This doesn’t include the incidents of stalking he and his men have to go through while they’re working.

In one incident earlier this year, rocks were thrown through the front windows of his shop, one of which had the word “kill” written on it.

Last Wednesday, however, the attacks on Mr. King became much more serious when he was awakened late in the evening at his home in Monroe County, Michigan and saw that the motion lights in his driveway had come on.  When he looked out his front window, he saw a figure near his SUV and went outside.

As soon as he got outside his front door, King yelled at the individual who was crouched down by King’s vehicle. As soon as King yelled, the suspect stood and, without hesitation, fired a shot at Mr. King.

Union whistleblowers: We were beaten and harassed after they accused bosses of looting

Posted by iusbvision on June 21, 2011

This is not the first time we have seen corruption from the Communication Workers of America. This is also not the first report of threats and beatings. I know a person who is a member of CWA. They went on strike shortly before the 2004 election and the union said it had no money for striker pay, but had given millions of dollars to multibillionaire John Kerry.

New York Daily News:

Sebastian Taravella and Salvatore DiStefano are among several phone company employees who claim they were beaten or threatened.

Unionized phone company employees say they were beaten or threatened after they accused their labor bosses of looting their coffers through various scams.

One member of Communications Workers of America Local 1101 said that after he reported a time-sheet padding scheme, a thug beat him so badly his spine was injured.

Another says he found a dead rat in his locker, while a third said a union officer warned that suspected informants should be brought off company property and “taken care of.”

The threats come to light as the U.S. Labor Department is probing charges that union bosses lined their pockets at the rank-and-file’s expense.

Accusations include an unauthorized 401(k) plan union officers gave themselves funded with members’ dues, along with hefty weekly allowances, lavish expense accounts and six-figure salaries, union documents show.

The feds are also looking into allegations that double-dipping union bosses illegally received pay from Verizon and the local for the same hours, sources said.

“This was union greed and that’s worse than corporate greed,” said Kevin Condy, a reform movement leader of the 6,700-member local that represents mostly Verizon workers in Manhattan and the Bronx. “These guys acted like they felt they were entitled.”

And, some members charge, the bosses retaliated when threatened with exposure.

In August, business agent Patrick Gibbons said he received death threats and his office was vandalized after he complained that union bosses were misappropriating cash.

“They were warning me that if I continue to complain about their finances, they would have me killed,” Gibbons wrote in an open letter to union members.

Six months earlier, Verizon heavy equipment operators Salvatore DiStefano and Sebastian Taravella sued the local in Brooklyn Federal Court.

They said they were harassed after telling Verizon security officials a manager allowed workers to leave early but claim a full day’s pay – as long as they completed a quota of assigned jobs.

DiStefano told the Daily News he was “attacked by a union thug” as he started the morning shift at a Verizon garage in the Bronx in April 2009. “He pounded me with his fists, he spit on me, he choked me and threw me down to the floor,” he said.

DiStefano said he suffered two herniated discs and had knee problems that required surgery. He got workers’ compensation as a result, records show.

Taravella said a dead rat was put in his locker with “a note tied to his tail” that said “Rest in Peace, Sebbie.”

The incidents came after a local vice president purportedly told members at a meeting, “We have to deal with these spies on a personal level, like take them … off the company property and off company time and take care of them,” the suit charged.

Taravella still works at Empire City Subway, a Verizon subsidiary; DiStefano was fired in July 2009 for “violation of the business code of conduct.”

Verizon officials declined to comment except to say they’d given probers “a small amount of payroll information.”

Lots of padding

A financial monitor hired by the union’s national last month uncovered “highly questionable practices” by local union bosses, including:

Setting up a 401(k) plan for themselves to which members contributed a percentage of their dues, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. The national union halted the perk in March.

Establishing a weekly $225 no-receipts-required expense allowance that added $11,700 annually to the paychecks of each officer and board member. The national also stopped this in March.

Expensing meal tabs averaging $225 a person at an Atlantic City meeting and $600-a-night hotel charges in Las Vegas.

Spending up to $37,000 a year in car service bills while also charging for their own cars.

“We’ve turned over everything we’ve come across in our investigation to the Labor Department,” said national CWA secretary-treasurer Jeff Rechenbach.

That included a phone call in which Local 1101 president Joseph Connolly discussed double-dipping with a union vice president, Rechenbach said.

Connolly, whose base salary is $170,000, did not return calls for comment. The Labor Department would not comment.

Judicial Watch: Obama Administration Channeling Tax Dollars to La Raza

Posted by iusbvision on June 21, 2011

La Raza means “The Race”. La Raza calls for communist revolution in the United States, wants much of the Western United States given to Mexico (they call it Aztlan), and are so racist that they are often referred to as “The Klan with a tan”; what would one expect from a group that calls itself “the race”?

Judicial Watch:

A Judicial Watch investigation reveals that federal funding for a Mexican La Raza group that for years has raked in millions of taxpayer dollars has skyrocketed since one of its top officials got a job in the Obama White House.

The influential and politically-connected National Council of La Raza (NCLR) has long benefitted from Uncle Sam’s largess but the group has made a killing since Obama hired its senior vice president (Cecilia Muñoz) in 2009 to be his director of intergovernmental affairs.

Ignored by the mainstream media, Judicial Watch covered the appointment because the president issued a special “ethics waiver” to bring Muñoz aboard since it violated his own lobbyist ban. At the pro illegal immigration NCLR, Muñoz supervised all legislative and advocacy activities on the state and local levels and she was heavily involved in the congressional immigration battles that took place in the George W. Bush Administration.

She also brought in a steady flow of government cash that’s allowed the Washington D.C.-based group to expand nationwide and promote its leftist, open-borders agenda via a network of community organizations dedicated to serving Latinos. Among them are a variety of local groups that provide social services, housing counseling and farm worker assistance as well as publicly-funded charter schools that promote radical Chicano curriculums. Judicial Watch published a special report on this a few years ago.

This week a JW probe has uncovered details of the alarming increase in federal funding that these NCLR groups have received since Muñoz joined the Obama Administration. In fact, the government cash more than doubled the year Muñoz joined the White House, from $4.1 million to $11 million.

Not surprisingly, a big chunk of the money (60%) came from the Department of Labor, which is headed by a former Californiacongresswoman (Hilda Solis) with close ties to the La Raza movement. Since Obama named her Labor Secretary, Solis has launched a nationwide campaign to protect illegal immigrant workers in theU.S. Just this week Solis penned declarations withGuatemala andNicaragua to preserve the rights of their migrants.

The NCLR also received additional taxpayer dollars from other federal agencies in 2010, the JW probe found. The Department of Housing and Urban Development doled out $2.5 million for housing counseling, the Department of Education contributed nearly $800,000 and the Centers for Disease Control a quarter of a million.

Additionally, NCLR affiliates nationwide raked in tens of millions of government grant and recovery dollars last year thanks to the Muñoz factor. An offshoot called Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) saw its federal funding nearly double to $18.3 million following Muñoz’ appointment.

A social service and legal assistance organization (Ayuda Inc.) that didn’t receive any federal funding between 2005 and 2008 got $600,000 in 2009 and $548,000 in 2010 from the Department of Justice. The group provides immigration law services and guarantees confidentiality to assure illegal aliens that they won’t be reported to authorities.

…by those professing “the religion of peace”.

UK Daily Mail

A teenage Muslim girl was stoned to death under ‘Sharia law’ after taking part in a beauty contest in Ukraine.

Katya Koren, 19, was found dead in a village in the Crimea region near her home.

Her battered body was buried in a forest and was found a week after she disappeared.

Police have opened a murder investigation and are looking into claims that three Muslim youths killed her, claiming her death was justified under Islam.

One of the three – named as 16-year-old Bihal Gaziev – is under arrest and told police that Katya had ‘violated the laws of Sharia’. Gaziev has said he has no regrets about her death.

Dallas public school teacher runs virtual “Fight Club” in class.

Posted by iusbvision on May 11, 2011

I noticed this story while browsing. A teacher in Dallas sits there while students are attacked, and in another video he sits there while students make an arena with the chairs, two students casually strip to their shorts and fight while other students film it with a cell phone. The Teacher says that policy prevents him from doing anything, so he just sits there as “fight club” goes on in his class and apparently this is not uncommon.

WFAA has the story and has updates. Click the links to see the video and the story. So much for the effectiveness of the so called “zero tolerance policy”.

[Editor’s Note – The information and video of the “fight club” that went on in the class is at the WFAA link so be sure to watch it]

“Ever constant, never changing, ongoing harassment” is how the victim describes the situation. Of course what did the school do about this?

Now the victim is dropping out of school because he is convinced it is unsafe; which is not unusual for a state run union school and is in fact what they prefer because victims mean that there is trouble in their school that administrators do not want to admit to under their watch, so if the victim goes away, bureaucratically speaking, so does the crime.

The school is also going after the student who recorded it, after all we can’t have the outside world know what is going on in class can we?

Victims go ignored, some even kill themselves like Phoebe Prince and the story is always the same. The school claims ignorance when the kids and teachers say that everyone knew about it.  District Attorney Elizabeth  Scheibel demonstrated that the administrators, from the Superintendent on down, were lying about not knowing, as Prince’s mother had multiple meetings with the schools administrators, which proved to be fruitless. Another reason that schools tend to side with the bullies, “Both Phoebe and Tyler were targeted by high-status kids who were well-liked in the community,” said Barbara Coloroso, a prominent anti-bullying consultant. By the way, Prince’s bullies were sentenced last week (expect a civil suit to follow).

MORE STUPIDITY – A public school in Maryland had a student dragged off in handcuffs and why? Because he had a two inch folding pocket toolkit that included a pen knife which he used to maintain and repair his Lacrosse stick. He had a lighter to burn off strings and frays. The school said that the folding took kit was a deadly weapon and that the lighter was an “explosive device”. Is being a moron a requirement to getting a school administrator position paying six figures? – LINK with video.

Thousands of Christians Displaced in Ethiopia After Muslim Extremists Torch Churches, Homes

Posted by iusbvision on March 24, 2011

Fox News:

Thousands of Christians have been forced to flee their homes in Western Ethiopia after Muslim extremists set fire to roughly 50 churches and dozens of Christian homes.

At least one Christian has been killed, many more have been injured and anywhere from 3,000 to 10,000 have been displaced in the attacks that began March 2 after a Christian in the community of Asendabo was accused of desecrating the Koran.

The violence escalated to the point that federal police forces sent to the area two weeks ago were initially overwhelmed by the mobs. Government spokesman Shimelis Kemal told Voice of America police reinforcements had since restored order and 130 suspects had been arrested and charged with instigating religious hatred and violence.

Huffington Post Blasts Elite Media: Ignoring Death Threats to Wisconsin Politicians Is Media Bias

Posted by iusbvision on March 18, 2011

Well I never thought I would see the day.

Of course most of the nutty commenters are siding with the people making the death threats and condemning the author for just telling the truth, that conservative bloggers got the story right. There have been dozens of death threats in recent weeks, and violence (LINK1, LINK2) and the elite media ignores it all. Of course Fox is the only one with the guts to report it.

Wisconsin Democrat Gordon Hintz to Female Republican Michelle Litjens After Budget Vote: “You Are F*cking Dead!

Three questions for you.

  1. Do you think of Republicans and the Tea Party as dangerous, violent extremists?
  2. Do you think the Wisconsin protests over GOP Governor Scott Walker’s move to strip public sector employees of collective bargaining were peaceful?
  3. Do you scoff at the right wing notion that mainstream media like the New York Times, the TV networks and NPR have a liberal media bias against the conservatives?

If you answered ‘yes’ to all three of those questions, then let me ask you one more…

Why isn’t the mainstream media talking about the death threats against Republican politicians in Wisconsin?

Try to set aside whatever biases or preconceptions you might have for a moment and ask yourself why death threats against politicians aren’t considered national news, especially in the wake of the all too fresh shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and other bystanders. And there hasn’t just been one death threat, but a number of them.

Here’s an example and it’s real…..

So of course the post went viral. I have been watching it on and off for hours the moderates came in and cleaned up the comments … LOL

Jim Treacher asks: What’s with all the death threats libs?

Somebody just sent James O’Keefe this lovely message on Twitter. [WARNING: Rude, moronic, violent language]

I’m going to assume this guy’s name is Mike Clark, and his Twitter bio says he’s in Memphis, TN. Sending somebody a death threat is dumb to begin with, but doing so via a Twitter account with your name and location on it? That takes a special brand of stupid.

Ann Althouse just received a direct threat to her person as well. Like O’Keefe, Althouse has raised the ire of the left by videotaping them in action. Tell the truth and they call it lies. Make your point nonviolently and they threaten you. It’s like clockwork.

And it doesn’t stop there. John Nolte at Big Government has put together a compilation of the last three weeks of left-wing threats and bullying in Wisconsin. It’s getting so bad that honest liberals (no, it’s not an oxymoron) like Lee Stranahan are fed up with the media ignoring these threats. “Don’t retreat, reload” is considered violent rhetoric if a conservative says it, but “I’m going to kill you” isn’t considered violent rhetoric if a liberal says it. I keep trying not to attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence, but are all these big-brained reporters really that inept?

By the way, if you want to bug me about this supposed “debunking” of O’Keefe’s video that I’m supposed to care about, read thisthisthis, and this. And then, if you still want to whine about how a “discredited” guy like James O’Keefe keeps making fools of you, go bug NPR. If you can convince them it’s all just a lie, maybe those poor NPR execs will get their jobs back.

Good luck.

P.S. And this.

UC Berkeley sued by Jewish student who was attacked by student jihadists. University knew about threats and violence on campus by student Islamic groups and failed to act.

Posted by iusbvision on March 11, 2011

Something similar happened to Ruth Malhotra at Georgia Tech except she was persecuted by far left students, faculty, and administrators. A professor told Ruth that if she attended the Conservative Political Action Conference that it would mean an automatic fail in the class. The professor carried out the threat and when Ruth complained the university exonerated the professor. The threats against Ruth were so bad that local police had to escort her form class to class because university police refused to respond to the threats against her. Ruth and fellow student Orit Sklar,  in conjunction with our friend David French at the Alliance Defense Fund, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Georgia Tech. It gets better, after Georgia Tech lost the first ruling, they put out a press release claiming victory. After the second ruling George Tech suffered a large payout and revocation of their illegal speech codes

Frontpage Magazine:

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Neal Sher, an attorney practicing in New York City. He, along  with San Francisco attorney Joel Siegal, is presently representing Jessica Felber, a Jewish UC Berkeley student who is suing the university over being physically attacked by Muslim Students.

Previously, Sher was the Director the Justice Department’s Office of Special Investigations, which investigated and prosecuted Nazi criminals in the U.S.  In that capacity, he was responsible for bringing many dozens of prosecutions and for barring former UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim from coming to this country. He also served as the National Executive Director of AIPAC and was the President of the American Section of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists.

FP: Neal Sher, welcome to Frontpage Interview. Tell us about this suit that you are filing on behalf of Jessica Felber. What happened exactly?

Sher: On March 5, 2010, Jessica Felber, a twenty-year-old Jewish student at Berkeley, was attacked and injured on campus during a pro-Israel event while she was holding a sign stating “Israel wants Peace.” Her assailant, Husam Zakharia, also a UC Berkeley student, was the leader of Students for Justice in Palestine at Berkeley. There is no doubt that she was attacked because of her religion and Jewish ancestry.

Defendants – UC Berkeley, the Regents of the University of California and their ranking officials – were fully aware that Zakharia, the SJP and similar student groups had been involved in other incidents on campus to incite violence against and intimidate Jewish and other students. Nevertheless, in clear dereliction of their legal responsibilities, Defendants took no reasonable steps to protect Ms. Felber and others.

The Complaint further describes how the SJP conspires and coordinates with the Muslim Student Association, which has a publicly documented history of affiliation with and support of organizations deemed “terror organizations” by the United States Department of State. That they have resorted to intimidation and harassment is evidenced most recently by the fact that the District Attorney of Orange County, California, has indicted eleven students from these groups for inciting and disrupting a speech given by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States at the University of California, Irvine.

Ignoring complaints from students about the poisonous climate on campus, defendants condoned, allowed and enabled groups such as the Muslim Student Association and the SJP to threaten, harass and intimidate Jewish students and to endanger their health and safety. Their tolerance of the growing cancer of a dangerous anti-Semitic climate on its campuses, and their failure to take adequate measures to quell it, violated the rights of Ms. Felber and other students to enjoy a peaceful campus environment free from threats and intimidation.

FP: Tell us in what ways this is a very significant and important lawsuit. It can be seen in many ways as turning point right?

Sher: This is, to our knowledge, a precedent complaint demanding that the university honor its legal obligations to protect the rights of its students. It is also important because, as people who follow and monitor events on campuses around the country well know, universities and colleges are major battlegrounds for those who are pressing the campaign to delegitimize and denigrate Israel. They have created an atmosphere of intimidation and harassment for Jewish and pro-Israel students which has been condoned and allowed to fester by university officials.

FP: Why did UC Berkeley fail to provide security to Felber?

Sher: It’s also difficult to pinpoint motives. Perhaps officials themselves were intimidated or, perhaps, they were simply hostile to students like Jessica and their causes. But, the central point is that the officials were fully aware of the threats posed by the SJP, MSA and their followers and they failed to respond adequately as they were legally obligated to do.

FP: Your thoughts on the growing Muslim extremism on campuses putting Jewish students in danger?

Sher: Clearly, this is a very serious problem as there has been a growing number of incidents on campuses, not just within the University of California system but throughout the country, where groups like the SJP and MSA have intimidated and harassed students and faculty members.  Moreover, this campaign appears to be highly organized and thoroughly planned.

It is also very troubling that the on-campus activities of the SJP and MSA against Jessica and other students – and the university’s failure to confront them – present a disturbing echo of the darkest period in history: the incitement, intimidation, harassment and violence carried out under the Nazi regime and those of its allies in Europe against Jewish students and scholars in the leading universities of those countries during the turbulent years leading up to and including the Holocaust.

I can tell you that there is a genuine fear by Jessica and other students of Jewish ancestry on campuses throughout the University of California system that the tragic lessons of history have not yet been learned by these defendants. They fear that the University of California campuses are no longer places of hope and dignity, of academic and personal freedom, or of peaceful life and personal safety.

FP: What do you hope this lawsuit will help achieve?

Sher: First, we are demanding damages for Jessica injuries she suffered, physical and otherwise, due to defendant’s failure to honor its legal obligations. And, we would all like to see a sea change in the attitudes and actions on the part of the university and officials. As it now stands, students such as Jessica have been deprived of their constitutional rights and their ability to live and learn in a campus environment free of intimidation, threats and bullying.

FP: The thought of the roles reversed here, and with Berkeley having the same disposition toward the events, is simply unfathomable. What I mean is this: I can’t even imagine (1) Jewish students physically attacking Muslim students on a campus and (2) that if this hypothetically happened, that Berkeley would respond in the same way. First, if Muslim students sensed they were in danger from Jewish students, I am sure Berkeley would have made security arrangements – to say the least. And if Jewish students attacked a Muslim student, while the entire country’s media would be up in arms, Berkeley would be engaged in all kinds of disciplinary action. What are your thoughts on this observation?

Sher: You’ve hit the nail on the head.  There is no question that if the shoe was on the other foot, immediate and decisive action would be taken by the powers that be. It’s time that we demand an end to the hypocrisy and double standards which have gone on far too long and which will be exposed in this lawsuit.  The silent majority should remain silent no longer!

FP: Neal Sher, thank you for joining Frontpage Interview and thank you for coming to the defense of those who are no longer safe from violence on our campuses.

Wisconsin Budget Battle Over. Republicans Win. Chaos in Madison. Updated Continually, Union Violence, Damage to Capitol.

Posted by iusbvision on March 10, 2011

[IUSB Vision Editor’s Note – Sometime down the road. A few months or a couple of years from now, these videos from recent weeks will be replayed in the elite media and attributed to the Tea Party.  I will bet lunch. Any takers? Our previous Wisconsin roundup post is HERE. ]

UPDATE March 28, 2011 – Fleebagger Democrats finally come home. It is about time.

The leftists react.

Democrats who left the state are having a fit. Just so you have story straight. The Democrats abandoned their constitutional duty to engage in unusual and illegal tactics to reverse the will of an election. So the GOP used a much less unusual and perfectly legal procedural tactic and oh no THAT is unfair the Democrats are claiming.

It seems to me that someone is upset because they got “out tacticaled” (I know it is not really a word but it sounded cute). They got “out-tacticaled” by a bunch of noobsauce Republican freshman.

If the unions are protesting for freedom, why do they want to strip people from having the right to choose to join one? IF they are what “democracy looks like” as they claim, why are unions pushing to take away worker’s right to a secret ballot?

The facts: 22 states and the federal government have far more restrictions on collective bargaining than what Wisconsin is proposing and Indiana has had the same thing since 2005. The world did not burn, the sky did not fall.

Since when does a private organization (union) have a RIGHT to have a monopoly on govt labor/hiring? Aren’t monopolies bad?

When the govt union “negotiates” with a Dem governor it is not adversarial, and as a result “the man” becomes the tax payer. Make no mistake, it IS the taxpayer unions are protesting.

Democrats have promised the govt unions the moon for those big donations and leave a future governor holding the bag to pay the bill.

Gov Christie in New Jersey went to the union halls and told them the truth, [paraphrasing] “The guys before me who promised you all this stuff lied to you, they knew we couldnt afford it. Don’t boo me, I am the first guy who is telling you the truth, but if we reform it now we can get you more than if the system crashes” – Video –

Talk to the voters like adults. really they can take it. You just have to make the case.

UPDATE I – Governor Walker Speaks in WSJ – LINK

While it might be a bold political move, the changes are modest. We ask government workers to make a 5.8% contribution to their pensions and a 12.6% contribution to their health-insurance premium, both of which are well below what other workers pay for benefits. Our plan calls for Wisconsin state workers to contribute half of what federal employees pay for their health-insurance premiums. (It’s also worth noting that most federal workers don’t have collective bargaining for wages and benefits.)

For example, my brother works as a banquet manager at a hotel and occasionally works as a bartender. My sister-in-law works at a department store. They have two beautiful kids. They are a typical middle-class Wisconsin family. At the start of this debate, David reminded me that he pays nearly $800 per month for his family’s health-insurance premium and a modest 401(k) contribution. He said most workers in Wisconsin would love a deal like the one we are proposing.

The unions say they are ready to accept concessions, yet their actions speak louder than words. Over the past three weeks, local unions across the state have pursued contracts without new pension or health-insurance contributions. Their rhetoric does not match their record on this issue.

UPDATE II – Wisconsin Lawmakers Get Death Threats – Bomb Threats.  WTMJ:

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes (SIC)
will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain
to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it
will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit
that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for
more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in
the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me
have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that
support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing
with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand
for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen: I as well as many
others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records.
We have all planned to assult (SIC) you by arriving at your house and putting a
nice little bullet in your head.

UPDATE III – Gateway Pundit

Protesters have penetrated the inner assembly hallways.  Assemblymen are trapped in their offices with their doors barricaded. Protesters are trying to break into their offices.

The Wisconsin fleebaggers are still hiding out in Illinois.

MORE… John Jagler, spokesman for Jeff Fitzgerald, on phone with Fox. They are trapped in his office.  Had to literally step over protesters outside his office.  Protesters waving signs.  Go limp when police lift them for removal.  They are pounding on glass and doors, jiggling locks.   They are “vowing to hold this ground”.

Wisconsin Capitol police just announced: “Capitol bldg is on lock-down until it is secured”.

UPDATE IV – Capitol is unsafe – LINK

MADISON – State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says the situation at the Capitol is “unsafe.”

Fitzgerald appeared on Newsradio 620 WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Morning News.  He’s concerned about the ability for business to take place inside the Capitol.

“Law enforcement is doing the best they can, but they’re just undermanned,” Fitzgerald said.

Protesters forced their way into the Capitol following the senate vote Wednesday night.  Fitzgerald says many of those protesters had help getting into the building, claiming “When the Democrat staffers opened the windows for protesters to get in…that’s not how democracy is supposed to work.”

UPDATE VIndiana not Urbana!

Indiana legislators make a new song about fleebagger Democrats. On the left is our friend Tim Wesco. This is the only time you will see him on the left. Our pal Greg Dudeck comments, “Wesco has some good pipes.”

Listen to the lyrics carefully. Hilarious.

UPDATE VII – Police escorted legislators out of the capital due to threats.

UPDATE VIIIMegyn Kelly with Jesse Jackson – Democrats lied, Gov Walker did make concessions on expanding collective bargaining in other areas.

Notice how Jackson speaks in platitudes that could not stand 10 minutes of serious examination.

If this was a Tea Party protest Jackson would be saying,  “Awe look at these oppressed white folks. I would say poor but since even after this is passed they still have a sweetheart deal which leaves them paying less than half what others pay for their benefits and with wages that are much higher than the state average. Give me a break.”

UPDATE IXAnn Coulter vs Sean Hannity on how Gov Walker handled the PR Campaign.

Ann is right. If it wasn’t for some debate on Fox, talk radio, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and smarter politicians in other states, the Wisconsin GOP would have been destroyed in the public image much worse. Even if Gov. Walker would have someone of my profession to help him out he would have been much more effective. Heritage provided some great talking points which are accurate, so have many bloggers and yet very few of these are being used. There is no excuse for it. The GOP communications machine lets its constituency down repeatedly. The talking points I wrote would best any argument form the other side.

Adventures in the left’s “new civility”.  IndyChannel:

INDIANAPOLIS — A state worker told police she was assaulted by three men during Thursday’s union rally that brought thousands of people to the steps of the Statehouse.

The 33-year-old Department of Child Services employee said she was taking a smoke break at the west end of the Indiana Government Center South building just after 12:15 p.m. when she was approached by three men who asked her to use her electronic pass to let them in the building.

When she refused, directing them toward the public entrance, she said the men pushed her, causing her to fall backward, off the sidewalk, and hit her head.

The woman flagged down a Capitol police officer to report the assault. The officer said the woman had a bump on her head and that her clothes were muddied from where she fell onto the ground.

UPDATE XIV – Speaker Bosma Statement

I sincerely support the right of every Hoosier, and even their out of state colleagues, to appear at the Indiana Statehouse as they did today, and to have their say.  But the misrepresentation of the Republican proposals before the General Assembly – even by our Democrat colleagues – continues to amaze me.

No reasonably informed person can honestly state that our desire to transform public education is an effort to destroy it.  In fact, our hope is just the opposite – to make outstanding education options, whether public or private, available to every Hoosier family regardless of their income or zip code.

Likewise, no reasonably informed observer can honestly state that our proposals are designed to “eliminate the middle class” or drive workers to “the minimum wage for life.”  Our goal is just the opposite – to create high skill high wage jobs for every Hoosier worker, whether those jobs are union supported or non-union supported jobs.

This is the clear agenda House Republicans ran on in November, and this is what we continue to stand for today.  We will continue to advance these proposals at every opportunity, if only our Democrat colleagues will return from Illinois.

AOL News Op-Ed: Elite Media Whitewashing Wisconsin’s Protests

Posted by iusbvision on March 9, 2011

AOL News:

For the past two weeks, the news media have been swarming over Madison, Wis., covering every detail of the public-sector union protests against Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed budget cuts, as well as other similar protests around the country.

If you’ve followed the mainstream press, you’ve seen lots of civil protests, lots of interviews with reasonable teachers, pictures of signs about the need for quality education.

But have they been giving viewers and readers the whole story? Not quite.

Here’s a sampling of what you likely missed:

Uncivil language

  • During the protests, there have been signs comparing Gov. Walker to Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Mubarak, even Satan. Some signs featured Walker’s face in crosshairs with the words “Don’t Retreat, Reload: Repeal Walker.” Another held a sign saying “Political Death to Tyrants.”Click here to see a gallery of signs(caution, several signs contain adult language).
  • On Feb. 22 in Boston, Rep. Michael Capuano, D-Mass., fired up a union crowd in front of the statehouse: “I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an e-mail to get you going. Every once [in] a while you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”
  • In Rhode Island, a union supporter called a cameraman a derogatory term for a homosexual and threatened to have anal sex with him.
  • In Ohio, a union activist called tea party members “corporate butt-lickers” and Nazis.

  • Tabitha Hale of FreedomWorks was filming a union protest outside their offices in the nation’s capital Feb. 23 and was shoved to the ground by a middle-aged male activist wearing a T-shirt of the Communications Workers of America.
  • Fox News correspondent Mike Tobin said he was hit by pro-union protesters in Wisconsin amidst cries of “Fox News lies” from the crowd, which also tried to block the cameraman’s view of Tobin.

Not one of those outrages was apparently worthy of much in the way of news coverage.

For example, a Media Research Center study of 53 Wisconsin stories on ABC, CBS and NBC found that only eight stories visually featured signs comparing Gov. Walker to Hitler, or Mussolini, or Stalin, or Mubarak, or Satan. More incredibly, not a single network anchor or reporter addressed whether that kind of signage was civil or appropriate. And only Fox covered Capuano’s “get a little bloody” remark.

Now, compare this to how tea party protests have been covered, and you can see a glaring double standard at work.

These same media outlets spent two years obsessing over every over-the-top tea party sign and mere accusation of uncivil behavior.

Do you remember the claims that tea party activists intentionally spit on Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver (a charge he backed away from) and that tea partyers yelled the N-word at black congressmen (which no one could produce on video)? The mere accusation, the mere suggestion was enough for blanket network coverage.

Do you recall the endless parade of anti-tea-party stories after the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and others in Tucson? All of them uniformly denounced Sarah Palin as if she encouraged the shooting. Palin put crosshairs on a congressional district, on the Internet. The Wisconsin protesters put Walker’s head in the crosshairs on posters. But Palin was the evil one, and the Wisconsin protesters got a free pass: No one denounced them.

Well, one uncivil action did break through the media blackout — when blogger Ian Murphy of the “Buffalo Beast” made a crank call to Gov. Walker pretending to be billionaire conservative philanthropist David Koch. But he was celebrated by the press.

On “The Early Show,” CBS reporter Dean Reynolds talked about how gullible the governor was. NBC News correspondent Michael Isikoff asserted that Murphy proved the union conspiracy theorists were right. CNN named Murphy “The Most Intriguing Person of the Day.”

None of these networks, it’s worth pointing out, mentioned that Murphy’s article on this prank call was titled “Koch Whore,” or that he’d in the past written such things as “If Rove is Bush’s brain, may the 43rd president be lobotomized before we string him up.”

Why would they, since that apparently wouldn’t fit the media’s preferred narrative that the pro-union protesters are, unlike tea partyers, champions of civility?

MUST SEE VIDEO – Chris Christie Blasts Union Leadership with Dire Truth:  Democrats promised union benefits no one could hope to pay for:

It is time to talk to the American People like adults, they are smart and can handle it, it is time to lead and tell the truth:

Union Busting!! Sounds so horrible doesn’t it? It does until you consider that public sector unions have over reached and used their political influence to get Cadillac benefits, large yearly raises and golden parachute like retirements that make one wonder why anyone would ever work in the private sector. Of course you and your children will have to pay for it all. Businesses get sick of carrying the economic burden and census figures show that people and wealth are voting with their feet and going to states that have more fiscal restraint.

Why is it that government is constantly asking us to sacrifice more and more while they are often completely unwilling to share in that sacrifice? States are going broke. The day of reckoning has come and we simply cannot afford public sector union over reach and the political corruption that comes along with it any longer.

Associated Press:

MADISON, Wis. – Protesters clogged the hallways of the Wisconsin state Capitol on Thursday as the Senate prepared to pass a momentous bill that would strip government workers, including school teachers, of nearly all collective bargaining rights.

The nation’s most aggressive anti-union proposal has been speeding through the Legislature since Republican Gov. Scott Walker introduced it a week ago. After clearing a major legislative hurdle Wednesday night, it was headed to votes in the Senate and Assembly.

Hundreds of protesters massed outside the Senate chamber on the second floor of the Capitol early Thursday, hours before the planned vote. Republican leaders said it has the votes to pass in both the Senate and Assembly.

The bill marks a dramatic shift for Wisconsin, which passed a comprehensive collective bargaining law in 1959 and was the birthplace of the national union representing all non-federal public employees.

Thousands of protesters, including children and teachers from more than two dozen schools forced to close due to high absences, were expected in and outside the Capitol for a third day of protests. Schools in Madison, the state’s second largest district with 2,600-union covered employees, closed for a second day.
Hundreds of people, many of them students from the nearby University of Wisconsin campus, slept in the rotunda for a second night leading up to the vote.

They chanted “Kill the bill!” and “Recall Walker!” early on Thursday. But there appeared to be little doubt the bill would pass.

The head of the 98,000-member statewide teachers union called on all Wisconsin residents to come to the Capitol on Thursday for the votes in the Senate and Assembly.

“Our goal is not to close schools, but to instead to remain vigilant in our efforts to be heard,” said Wisconsin Education Association Council President Mary Bell.

The Legislature’s budget committee passed the bill on a partisan vote just before midnight. Several opponents in the crowd broke into tears as Democrats on the committee encouraged them not to give up the fight.

“I’m sad. Scared. Disappointed,” said Kelly Dzurick, a 31-year-old fifth-grade teacher in Elkhorn, who came to the Capitol on Wednesday night. “Nobody’s listening to what people say.”

Democrats have been powerless to stop the bill.

“The story around the world is the rush to democracy,” said Sen. Bob Jauch, (D-Poplar). “The story in Wisconsin is the end of the democratic process.”

No Sen. Jauch, you got voted out of office, that is democracy in action.

Wisconsin is a liberal state by a big margin and yet the people elected Republican majorities who promised to take this very action. This shows that most Americans who tend to vote Democratic do not like being ripped off and stuck with the bill. The people are asserting themselves.

Commentary Via Ed Morrissey:

Suzanne Malveaux of CNN asks one question too many from a union activist in Madison, Wisconsin earlier today. Nancy Reisch insists that all she wants is to have Governor Scott Walker to “come to the table” to discuss a proposal that has been debated for months during the last election campaign. Malveaux asks whether the union would accept a deal that changed the contributions without affecting the public-union reforms in the bill, and Reisch says she would, but that Walker “will not come to the table.” However, when Malveaux asks Reisch what she thinks about Democrats running away from the table and out of the state, Reisch suddenly develops a hearing disorder (via Greg Hengler).

Of course they won’t come to the table. This is not about the kids and they are not there for them. See the talking points section as to why. This is not about not having a voice. Governor Walker’s modest proposal does not take away collective bargaining, it leaves it intact for wages and other areas, it simply restricts it on the contributions for benefits. The union says it will pay the modest contributions for their gold plated benefits and retirement plans for now, but the union wants to reverse those concessions at the next round of collective bargaining and make no mistake, that is exactly what they will do. The Governor and the Republicans say no way and right they should. Collective bargaining and negotiations should not always mean that cowed politicians give the Unions anything they want at the expense of the taxpayer. A taxpayer who makes less money and has to pay much more for far less impressive benefit plans. Sometimes negotiation means you have to give up things just like everyone else has had to.

“The President of the United States has a unique opportunity and responsibility to lead this nation. President Obama has acknowledged the challenges we face, but – thus far – he has done nothing to offer solutions. Now, worse, his political organization is colluding with special-interest allies across the country to demagogue reform-minded governors who are making the tough choices that the President is avoiding.

“This is not the way to begin an ‘adult conversation’ about solutions to the big challenges facing our country. Rather than inciting protests against those who speak honestly about the challenges we face, the President and his advisers should lead.

“When the American people watched the people of Greece take to the streets to protest cuts to unsustainable government programs, they worried it might foreshadow events in our nation’s distant future – but today, we see the same sort of protests on the streets of Madison, fueled by President Obama’s own political machine.

“Rather than trying to ‘win the future,’ the President’s political allies are trying, desperately, to cling to a failed past by fighting reforms our nation needs to liberate our economy from the shackles of debt and create a better future for our children and grandchildren. The President should make it clear to his friends that the people of Wisconsin, and states across America, can handle their own affairs without Washington special-interest money and meddling.

UPDATE IIPalin Speaks:

Here we are still struggling to get out of a deep recession and coping with high unemployment, record deficits, rapidly rising food prices, and a host of other economic problems; and Wisconsin union bosses want union members out in the streets demanding that taxpayers foot the bill for unsustainable benefits packages. I am a friend to hard working union members and to teachers. I come from a family of teachers; my grandparents, parents, brother, sister, aunt, and other relatives worked, or still work, in education. My own children attend public schools. I greatly admire good teachers and will always speak up in defense of the teaching profession. But Wisconsin teacher unions do themselves no favor by closing down classrooms and abandoning children’s needs in protest against the sort of belt-tightening that people everywhere are going through. Union brothers and sisters: this is the wrong fight at the wrong time. Solidarity doesn’t mean making Wisconsin taxpayers pay for benefits that are not sustainable and affordable at a time when many of these taxpayers struggle to hold on to their own jobs and homes. Real solidarity means everyone being willing to sacrifice and carry our share of the burden. It does no one any favors to dismiss the sacrifices others have already had to make—in wage cuts, unpaid vacations, and even job losses—to weather our economic storm.

Hard working, patriotic, and selfless union brothers and sisters: please don’t be taken in by the union bosses. At the end of the day, they’re not fighting for your pension or health care plan or even for the sustainability of Wisconsin’s education budget. They’re fighting to protect their own powerful privileges and their own political clout. The agenda for too many union bosses is a big government agenda that only serves the union bosses themselves – not union members, not union families, and certainly not the larger community. Everybody else is just there to foot the bill; and if that bill eventually takes the form of thousands of teachers and other public sector workers losing their jobs because the state of Wisconsin can no longer afford to keep them on the payroll, that’s a risk the union bosses are willing to take as long as their positions are secure. Union brothers and sisters: you are better than this and you deserve better. The situation in Wisconsin is at an impasse because 14 Democratic State Senators are hiding out in Illinois. There are 19 Republican Senators, but 20 are needed (three fifths) to establish a quorum. Among the options being discussed are:

  1. Eliminate direct deposit of a Senators compensation, and require them to pick up their paychecks personally from the Secretary of State.
  2. Suspend absent employees without pay, and take appropriate disciplinary action for their dereliction of duty.
  3. Cutting off pay to the staff of lawmakers who refuse to return to work. Their offices could also be locked.
  4. The three-fifths requirement is for fiscal bills. For non-fiscal bills the necessary quorum is one-half, which the Republicans already have. They could introduce a stand-alone union reform bill which would not be tied to the Governor’s budget reform proposal.
  5. A recall campaign has already been launched against State Senator Jim Holperin (D) who was elected in 2008 with  51% of the vote. They need to obtain 25,000 signatures, and the goal is to get Holperin to come back to Wisconsin.
  6. Many believe unions are paying the Chicago hotel bills for the absent State Senators. It should be determined if this constitutes an illegal gratuity or contribution.
  7. If Walker’s collective bargaining reforms are rejected then massive lay-offs of state employees has to begin.

WALKER: Well, Chris – Chris that actually is not true. There are 314 fire and police unions in the state. Four of them endorsed me. All the rest endorsed my opponent.

Even the left leaning and often wrong Politifact got this one mostly right. The concessions they made now mean nothing because the union will have those concessions reversed when their contract runs out and they go back to negotiate and if they don’t get them reversed they will go on strike. UPDATE III Unions put misleading emotional ads on TV to sway public. Tammy Bruce debates leftist who says “Gov. Walker Doesn’t Care About People”.

Sorry Tammy, luv ya, but when the leftist said that Walker wants to take away their rights you should have smacked her down with the facts. Walker only wants to take off the table from collective bargaining the ability to reverse the concessions at the end of the next contract, which is exactly what the unions will do. We have seen this movie before. When unions use their money to control politicians who have an interest in giving them gold plated pay and benefits for kickbacks, who is negotiating for the taxpayer? This is why FDR opposed government unions.

The leftist misrepresented the facts, made emotional appeals and personal attacks. The left knows full well that they cannot win the argument on the merits, but hey you conservative pundits out there, you need to know what their talking points will be and be ready to nuke them. Tammy just was not as prepared as she should have been.

UPDATE IVMUST READ – James Turanto: The Means of Coercion – The Privileged Are Revolting:

Collective bargaining in the public sector thus is less a negotiation than a conspiracy to steal money from taxpayers. The notion that this is “in the economic interests of the middle class” for government employees in Wisconsin and elsewhere to get above-market wages and extremely lavish benefits is just laughable. Sure, government employees are “middle class,” but so are the vast majority of taxpayers who don’t enjoy the special privileges that come from owning the means of coercion.

*****Wednesday Feb 23, 2011 – Democrats Flee Indiana*****

Indiana is not Wisconsin. Indiana is much more conservative/traditional than Wisconsin. Hoosier Democrats are taking a huge gamble to put it mildly. Mitch Daniels said that this is not the year for a full blown right to work legislation debate. While some may disagree on principal, he is right about the politics of it. It would be better to debate this after ’12.

UPDATE I – Indiana Legislator’s featured on Greta:

Of course “Right to Work” legislation makes mandatory union membership illegal as a condition of employment and 22 states already have such legislation. There is an argument to be made that such legislation forces unions to be responsive to and earn the respect of the rank and file.

I have several union members in my family. One is in the Communication Workers of America (CWA). When CWA went on strike against Ameritech the union claimed it had no money for striker pay. That year the same union gave tens of millions of dollars to billionaire Presidential Candidate John Kerry. CWA union stewards have repeatedly been caught abusing their positions and taking paid time off for non union activities.

If you are a known Republican and a member of a union in many cases you can forget about any union help at all. In fact the union will often help administrators in getting rid of you. This happened to me when I was in the Teamsters.

Democrats will say that this is a lie because the unions have made the contribution concession, but what they don’t tell you is that, as it has been in other cases, when the next round of collective bargaining comes they will insist on having the concessions reversed or  they will strike.  We have seen this movie before.

UPDATE I –  Mitch Lays Down the Law:

The Democrats will need a re-branding effort because this action is about as undemocratic as behavior can be.

If we have to we will have special sessions from now till new years we will hold them and we will send the bill to (former) Speaker Bauer and the Democratic Party of Indiana.

UPDATE II –  Gov. Daniels with Neil Cavuto: Every year they (Democrats) spend money they don’t have – We did what Wisconsin did back on 2005 [Note and the unions aren’t destroyed and all is well].

Note – The Indiana Republicans have taken the “Right to Work” legislation off the table. Democrats are still not coming back because they don’t want education reform. Here is the rub, if schools start to improve there will be no excuse to pump more money into failing schools and the Teachers Union. If Charter Schools do better or if a voucher program works, it will be good for the kids but bad for the union, hence the Democrats don’t want to come home.

I spoke to Stanhope, as he drove to the hospital for x-rays and treatment for the injuries sustained at the rally, and asked him what happened.  Mr. Stanhope said that he was with a group of about 150 Tea Party activists across the street from the union rally.  A union man with a bullhorn, Richard Andazola, 28, was yelling across the street at the Tea Party activists, calling them “fascists.”

Then one of the Tea Party activists, also bullhorn equipped, replied, “We pay your salary!” This enraged Andazola, who, according to Stanhope, rushed the Tea Partiers, chanting “Fascists go home! Fascists go home!”  He violently shoved Stanhope twice, the second time apparently striking Stanhope in the throat.

UPDATE I – Indiana Newspapers Turn Against Democrat “Fleebaggers”   – INDY STAR and three other Indiana papers put out editorials like THIS:

It becomes harder by the day to take Indiana House Democrats seriously.

First, they went on strike to protest legislation they didn’t like — the so-called right-to-work bill. Then they fled the state, holing up in an Urbana, Ill., hotel, where they continue to draw paychecks courtesy of Indiana taxpayers but do no real work.

And now, after Republicans gave in and agreed to pull the right-to- work legislation from the agenda, House Minority Leader Pat Bauer and his caucus have demanded that as many as 10 other bills be killed. Their demands are so absurd that they even included one bill that the General Assembly already has approved and sent to Gov. Mitch Daniels for his signature.

What’s next? Asking Daniels to personally deliver room service?

Whatever arguments House Democrats had going for them, principally that Republicans had sprung the right-to-work legislation on Hoosiers by surprise, they’ve now squandered.

No matter how much they dislike charter school legislation, or the school voucher bill, or merit pay for teachers, Democrats can’t honestly claim that Indiana voters didn’t have the opportunity to weigh those issues before the November elections. The governor and Republican leaders in the General Assembly made clear the planks of their education reform platform well ahead of Election Day.

Voters rewarded the GOP with a landslide victory that included a supermajority in the state Senate and 60 seats in the House. Bauer, who decried the reform efforts, was resoundingly dumped as Speaker.

Now, after having been swept into a distinct minority in the Statehouse, those Democrats who remain in office are trying to block through childish antics what they couldn’t win through democratic action.

*****Wednesday March 9, 2011 White House Behind Wisconsin Recall Effort*****

Via Real Clear PoliticsLINK.  Have we ever seen a White House take direct action to have local elected officials recalled? Is this change we can believe in?

Talking Points:

1 – How many of you pay at least 12% or your health insurance? At least 5% of your retirement? Most of you pay more and this is what Governor Walker is asking the public sector union to do.  And at 12% donation they are still paying $100 a month less than the average Wisconsin worker for the gold plated benefits they get.

2 – The unions have made it clear that the state should raise taxes and go into more debt to make you pay for their gold plated benefits and fat yearly raises. The reason that the state is moving to limit the bargaining on the benefits is because the union is willing to take a temporary increase in partly paying for their benefits for now, but will negotiate all of it back next year and they expect you, who are suffering in this recession, to pay for it. The state cannot afford that and neither can the people.

3 – The public sector unions are trying to thwart the will of the people as expressed in the last election. The Wisconsin Republicans ran on getting this problem under control. Wisconsin has a shortfall of $4 billion dollars that they have to make up.

4 – Now the public sector union is waging an illegal strike and in some cases are illegally bringing students with them. The kids are missing school. The kids are paying the price so the union can politic on your dime as they are using paid sick days to do it.

5 – It would be one thing if the government union was giving you a superior product and service, but well all know that public schools do not offer a superior result and the union resists most efforts at reform. So instead of working to merit getting more of your money willingly, they want to politic to force government to take it from you.

6 – The Democrats have walked out and fled the state so they do not have to vote and the police cannot bring them back. Every one of these office holders has taken an oath to faithfully execute their office; instead they are kicking it fat at a resort in Illinois. I wonder who is going to be paying that bill? You don’t defend democracy by running away from it. Now Democrats have fled that resort because they got caught.

7 – Did Wisconsin try to pass these things with bribes or in a lame duck session at Christmas while no one was looking? We now know this is pure astroturf. The White House is organizing these protests and the shutdown of Wisconsin schools. When Obama introduced his latest budget busting and taxing budget he said that “We need to start living within our means”.

8 – If the public sector unions were poorly paid the elite media would have what they are paid all over the place. Instead they are silent on it.  The public sector union employees including the teachers union receive an average pay of $89,000 a year (some numbers show average $77,000) … and they are comparing the very modest proposals to get them to pay just a small portion of their benefits and retirement to Egypt.

9  – SEIU is making its own employees pay more for their benefits  – LINK.

10 – Health costs for public employees have doubled in just the last few years. The cost of their gold plated health and retirement benefits is 46% of their compensation. That is why the union cannot be allowed to reverse the modest concessions in the collective bargaining process.

11 – Some of the local and elite media are not showing quite as much of the the usual dishonest zeal in their bias on this issue. Could it be because most journalists do not make nearly as much as a Wisconsin government union teacher or bus driver? Could it be that those same journalists are paying MUCH more of their pay for benefits that aren’t nearly as good?

12 – On the media; why are they not pointing out that these union crowds and minimum wage hired protesters are almost exclusively white? If that is relevant for some of the the Tea Party gatherings why isn’t that relevant here? If a LaRouche Democrat bringing a Nazi sign to a tea Party event is not welcome why is that national news as if all Tea Party people even like LaRouche (which they don’t)? But here we are with Nazi characterizations and cross hairs, threats and such the elite media has nothing to say?

13 – Remember this is not about not having a voice which is the primary lie that the govt. unions are pushing. Collective bargaining and negotiations should not always mean that cowed politicians give the govt. unions anything they want at the expense of the taxpayer. A taxpayer who makes less money and has to pay much more for far less impressive benefit plans. Sometimes negotiation means you have to give up things just like everyone else has had to.

14 – A similar lie the left is pushing is that Gov. Walker wants to take away their guarantees for working conditions. This is pure BS. Most all working conditions are set in state law and are no longer negotiated. The limits on negotiation in Gov. Walker’s  proposal only go so far as keeping the government unions from reversing the concessions on the gold plated benefits at the next round of collective bargaining, which rest assured they will do.

15 – Two-Thirds of Wisconsin Public-School 8th Graders Can’t Read Proficiently—Despite the Highest Per Pupil Spending in Midwest LINK

16 – Right to Work Legislation –

Of course “Right to Work” legislation makes mandatory union membership illegal as a condition of employment and 22 states already have such legislation. There is an argument to be made that such legislation forces unions to be responsive to and earn the respect of the rank and file.

I have several union members in my family. One is in the Communication Workers of America (CWA). When CWA went on strike against Ameritech the union claimed it had no money for striker pay. Fort Hood Shooting Final Report: Fear of Political Correctness Allowed Hasan’s Shooting Spree

Posted by iusbvision on February 4, 2011

The report is damning. This is the cost of political correctness:

The next two years were the final year of Hasan’s Walter Reed residency and the first year of his USUHS fellowship (2006-2008), and it was then that his radicalization to violent Islamist extremism came in to plain view. In the last month of his residency, he chose to fulfill an academic requirement to make a scholarly presentation of psychiatric issues by giving an off topic lecture on Violent Islamist extremism. – The presentation was a requirement for graduation from the residency, commonly referred to at Walter Reed as “Grand Rounds”. Hasan’s draft presentation consisted almost entirely of references to the Koran, without a single mention of a medical or psychiatric term. Hasan’s draft also presented extremist interpretations of the Koran as supporting grave physical harm and killing of non-Muslims. He even suggested that revenge might be a defense for the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Hasan’s superiors warned him that he needed to revise the presentation if he wanted to graduate and concluded that it was “not scientific,” “not scholarly,” and a mere “recitation of the Koran” that “might be perceived as proselytizing.

At about the same time, the Psychiatric Residency Program Director, who was one of the superiors who reviewed the draft Grand Rounds presentation, questioned whether Hasan was fit to graduate. He thought Hasan was “very lazy” and “a religious fanatic.”so Ultimately, Hasan improved the presentation sufficiently to receive credit, although a review of the PowerPoint presentation and a video of the event shows that it was still essentially a collection of Koranic verses with minimal scholarly content. According to the Program Director, a major reason that his presentation was acceptable was because standards for such presentations did not yet exist. He graduated despite the Program Director’s reservations.

The most chilling feature of both the draft and final presentation was that Hasan stated that one of the risks of having Muslim-Americans in the military was the possibility of fratricidal murder of fellow service members.

Hasan advanced to a two-year fellowship at USUHS. As a threshold matter, had established procedures been followed, he would not have been accepted into the fellowship. According to the Army Surgeon General, fellowships are typically reserved for elite medical professionals. Officers involved in the fellowship selection process recounted that Hasan was offered a fellowship because he was the only Army applicant and the Army did not want to risk losing that fellowship if it was not filled. Hasan confided to a colleague that he applied for the fellowship to avoid a combat deployment in a Muslim country; one of Hasan’s supervisors realized that he had the wrong motivation for applying and warned against accepting him.

Hasan’s radicalization became unmistakable almost immediately into the fellowship, and it became clear that Hasan embraced violent Islamist extremist ideology to such an extent that he had lost a sense of the conduct expected of a military officer. Classmates – who were military officers, some outranking Hasan – described him as having ” fixed radical beliefs about fundamentalist Islam” that he shared “at every possible opportunity” or as having irrational beliefs.

Less than a month into the fellowship, in August 2007, Hasan gave another off-topic presentation on a violent Islamist extremist subject instead of on a health care subject. This time, Hasan’s presentation was so controversial that the instructor had to stop it after just two minutes when the class erupted in protest to Hasan’s views. The presentation was entitled, Is the War on Terror a War on Islam: An Islamic Perspective? Hasan’s proposal for this presentation promoted this troubling thesis: that U.S. military operations are a war against lslam rather than based on non-religious security considerations. Hasan’s presentation accorded with the narrative of violent Islamist extremism that the West is at war with Islam. Hasan’s paper was full of empathetic and supportive recitation of other violent Islamist extremist views, including defense of Osama bin Laden, slanted historical accounts blaming the United States for problems in the Middle East, and arguments that anger at the United States is justifiable. Several colleagues who witnessed the presentation described Hasan as justifying suicide bombers. These colleagues were so alarmed and offended by what they described as his “dysfunctional ideology” and “extremist views” that they interrupted the presentation to the point where the instructor chose to stop it. The instructor who stopped the presentation said that Hasan was sweating, quite nervous, and agitated after being confronted by the class.

The Senate Report continues to describe more of this same behavior in detail and states:

In sum, Hasan engaged in the following conduct in front of or as reported to his superiors
within little more than one year:

• Making three off topic presentations on violent Islamist extremist topics instead of medical subjects.

• Giving a class presentation perceived as so supportive of violent Islamist extremist conflict against the United States that it was almost immediately stopped by an instructor after classmates erupted in opposition to Hasan’s views.

• Justifying suicide bombings in class at least twice, according to the accounts of classmates.

• Suggesting in writing in his proposals for presentations that some actions of Osama bin Laden may be justified.

• Telling several classmates that his religion took precedence over the U.S. Constitution he swore a military oath to support and defend.

• Stating three times in writing that Muslim-Americans in the military could be prone to fratricide.

Despite Hasan’s overt displays of radicalization to violent Islamist extremism, Hasan’s superiors failed to discipline him, refer him to counterintelligence officials, or seek to discharge him. One of the officers who reported Hasan to superiors opined that Hasan was permitted to remain in service because of “political correctness” and ignorance of religious practices. That officer added that he believed that concern about potential discrimination complaints stopped some individuals from challenging Hasan.

The Report goes on to say that while political correctness and fear of being hit with a “Muslim discrimination” charge were obvious motivators most of Hasan’s superiors were unwilling to say that they didn’t act because of these reasons which were obvious according to the interviews with those he worked with and the circumstances. Officers felt compelled to invent reasons that sounded justified for continually giving him glowing performance reports and recommendations for promotion.

One of the officers who reported Hasan to superiors opined that Hasan was permitted to remain in service because of “political correctness” and ignorance of religious practices. That officer added that he believed that concern about potential discrimination complaints stopped some individuals from challenging Hasan. We are concerned that exactly such worries about “political correctness” inhibited Hasan’s superiors and colleagues who were deeply troubled by his behavior from taking the actions against him that could have prevented the attack at Fort Hood.

This is where the report talks about Hasan’s rigged performance evals. Having served in the military I know that much of the time these performance reviews do not reflect the ability of the officer or NCO at all. These are often done by popularity, who was “kissing up” to the brass, if said person had powerful relatives etc. Reports are also skewed down on those who are more prone to follow the rules and whistleblowers.

When it came to this situation this is no surprise. This very writer was a part of one of the first co-ed Basic Military Training Unit’s in the USAF. The pressure to make the unit work completely overcame the fact that the unit was a disaster. I remember several female trainees who could not perform some of the basic tasks and were moved along anyways because the political pressure to make it work and the fear of being reported to “social actions” always won (There were some male trainees who couldn’t handle it and they were discharged). If you get reported to social actions you ARE guilty unless you can prove beyond all doubt that you are innocent. That is not how the system is intended to run on paper, but that is the reality.

Hasan was a chronic poor performer during his residency and fellowship. The program directors overseeing him at Walter Reed and USUHS both ranked him in the bottom 25 percent. He was placed on probation and remediation and often failed to meet basic job expectations such as showing up for work and being available when he was the physician on call.

Yet Hasan received evaluations that flatly misstated his actual performance. Hasan was described in the evaluations as a star officer, recommended for promotion to major, whose research on violent Islamist extremism would ass ist U.S. counterterrorism efforts.

• His Officer Evaluation Report for July 2007 to June 2008 described Hasan as “among the better disaster and psychiatry fellows to have completed the MPH at the Uniformed Services University.” The report described how Hasan had “focused his efforts on illuminating the role of culture and Islamic faith within the Global War on Terrorism” and that his “work in this area has extraordinary potential to inform national policy and military strategy”. The report also sta ted, “His unique interests have captured the interest and attention of peers and mentors alike”.

• His Officer Evaluation Report for July 2008 to June 2009 gave him passing marks for all even Army Values and all 15 Leadership Attributes.90 “Islamic studies” was listed under the category of “unique skills” Hasan possessed.91 The evaluation commented on Hasan’s “keen interest in Islamic culture and faith and his shown capacity to contribute to our psychological understanding of Islamic nationalism and how it may relate to events of national security and Army interest in the Middle East and Asia”.

These evaluations bore no resemblance to the real Hasan, a barely competent psychiatrist whose radicalization toward violent Islamist extremism alarmed his colleagues and his superiors. The lone negative mark in the eval uations was the result of Hasan failing to take a physical training test. Other than that, there is not a single criticism or negative comment of Hasan in those evaluations.

Now look at why the FBI dropped the investigation of Hasan after they caught him corresponding with Al-Qaeda:

The DCIS [Defense Criminal Investigative Service] [FBI] agent believed it was relevant that Hasan had not tried to hide his identity [REDACTED] in his communications with the Suspected Terrorist, which the agent believed implied that the communications were legitimate research efforts.

They looked as Hasan’s juiced up performance reviews and concluded that his contacts with Al-Qaeda were legitimate research. If the truth was in his performance reports the DCIS would have been all over him.

Posted by iusbvision on February 4, 2011

The elite media likes to tell you that the Tea Party are hateful racists, in spite of the fact that there is no good evidence to demonstrate that. However getting people to say these types of things at almost any left of center protest is easy (especially on most any college campus where there are plenty of unhinged Marxist professors and indoctrinated students in one place). I have seen it first hand as a former counter protester myself. What are the odds of seeing this on NBC News?

This group is called “Common Cause” and do I really have to state the obvious?… Yes they get money from George Soros.

Thanks to Andrew Brietbart for the footage.

The Kicker:

Common Cause is a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 1970 by John Gardner as a vehicle for citizens to make their voices heard in the political process and to hold their elected leaders accountable to the public interest.
The IRS considers them a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity because they are “non-partisan” (non partisan my ear…), so yes indeed being tax exempt means that YOU help subsidize them.

Salon Publishes MULTIPLE Calls for Torture, Murder of Sarah Palin

Posted by iusbvision on December 29, 2010

Is anyone surprised? Our friends at Big Journalism caught only one of these, there are more. Below is what we found just browsing for about five minutes. There are thousands of hate screeds against Sarah Palin and Republicans in general on Salon,  many of which contain violence and rape imagery; the few we picked out were some of the most… shall we say… colorful.

By the way THIS is what we mean by Palin Derangement Syndrome…

Liberal online political magazine published a letter to the editor Friday that called for the murder of 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

The letter was written in response to a mocking article at Salon titled, Good Morning America’s painfully friendly interview with Sarah Palin by Alex Pareene.

Pareene snarkily sums up the GMA interview:

“The interview was basically split into a couple of distinct sections: How awesome is your family, how bad is Barack Obama, how awful are people who criticize you, and how awesome is America?”

The first letter published in response to the article calls for Palin to be electrocuted by a cattle prod by convicted dog abuser Michael Vick:  “Vick gets a pet to torture and we get rid of Palin. A win-win for everyone!”

Michael Vick, the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, is a convicted felon who spent time in prison for dog fighting and animal cruelty.

That letter has apparently sat in the pole position under the article in the Letters to the Editor section since it was posted “Friday, December 17, 2010 12:33 PM ET.”

The Letters section for the GMA article lists 65 letters published over four pages. Each letter has a “flag” button to call attention to Salon editors about objectionable comments. It seems no one at Salon finds it objectionable for the site to publish an explicit call for murder.

Salon’s Editor at Large  Joan Walsh is a regular on MSNBC and CNN. Will Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough or Wolf Blitzer attack Walsh for prominently publishing a call for the murder of Sarah Palin? Will Walsh do the right thing and publicly apologize to Palin and pull the letter?

How soon will the Democratic Party front group Media Matters for America come along and slurp up this large chunk of vomit from Salon?

So I went to Salon and started looking at the comments – WARNING NOT SAFE FOR WORK –

Harry Potter Actress Beaten by Family, Called a Prostitute for Seeing Non-Muslim

Posted by iusbvision on December 21, 2010

Ayaan Hirsi Ali says that Islam is overtly bigoted against women, non Muslims and blacks (I am aware of how black Muslims in Arab countries are not treated well institutionally).

UPDATE -A very revealing article written by a Yemeni journalist:

“There Must Be Violence Against Women”

London Muslim is reporting that Azad is under threat of death from her father and is trying to get the charges dropped and playing happy family out of fear.

Afshan Azad

Afshan Azad

The Blaze:

Afshan Azad, the 22-year-old British actress who portrayed Padma Patil, a classmate of Harry Potter in the blockbuster Hollywood films, was reportedly beaten, called a ‘whore’ and threatened with death by members of her own family after dating a young, non-Muslim man.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the young actress was assaulted and called a ‘prostitute’ after she met with a young Hindu man — a potential relationship that apparently angered her father and brother. After her family members threatened to kill her, Azad reportedly fled the family’s home through her bedroom window. The movie star is apparently so frightened of her brother and father, she has refused to confront them in court.

Both men were charged with making threats to kill her and her brother was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on his sister.
Instead of both going on trial today, the prosecution decided to accept a guilty plea of assault by her brother, and both men were formally found not guilty of making threats to kill. …
Richard Vardon QC, prosecuting, told the court: ‘The incident took place on Saturday 21 of May at the home address of the family in Longsight, Manchester.
‘The prosecution allegation in essence is she was the victim of a wholly unnecessary and unpleasant assault by her brother.
‘The reason for the assault, apparently her association with a Hindu young man, that apparently being disapproved of by her family who are Muslim.

Florida School Board Shooter Self Proclaimed Humanist, Railed Against Rich, Touted Far Left Smear Site Media Matters

Posted by iusbvision on December 19, 2010

Once again lone wolf violence inspired by the hate rhetoric of envy from Media Matters and the far left blogs. Prof. Amy Bishop shot up her university, the man who flew his plane into the IRS building, the Pentagon shooter, the Discovery Channel shooter, the SEIU thugs who beat up Kenneth Gladney and the list goes on.

According to Clay Duke’s Facebook page, which has now been taken down, Duke proclaimed his religion as Humanist and his politics, well you will see that below. If Duke had listed anything like Tea Party or Evangelical or favorited Glenn Beck the reaction from the elite media would have been nothing short of orgasmic. Of course the last 200 years are filled with violence from secular leftists such as Stalin, Pol Pot, Hugo Chavez, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Ortega, etc.

Via The Blaze:

Clay Duke, the man who opened fire on a Florida school board Tuesday, posted a “last testament” on Facebook decrying the wealthy and linking to a slew of progressive sites including and

The chilling Facebook statement, posted under the “About Clay” section, talks about being born poor and how the rich “take turns fleecing us”:

My Testament: Some people (the government sponsored media) will say I was evil, a monster (V)… no… I was just born poor in a country where the Wealthy manipulate, use, abuse, and economically enslave 95% of the population. Rich Republicans, Rich Democrats… same-same… rich… they take turns fleecing us… our few dollars… pyramiding the wealth for themselves. The 95%… the us, in US of A, are the neo slaves of the Global South. Our Masters, the Wealthy, do, as they like to us…

In addition to the note, Duke also includes a reference to class warfare:

“There’s class warfare, all right, but its my class, the rich class that’s making war and we’re winning”
– Warren Buffet

And then issues a call to rise up, which seems to be from a poem titled “The Mask of Anarchy”:

Rise like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number.
Shake your chains to earth like dew.
Which in sleep has fallen on you.
Ye are many – they are few.

Besides the writings, Duke also includes an exhaustive list of links under the quote “You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!” The page includes a link dedicated to Wikileaks, another to a progressive 9/11 truther site, and even Media Matters.

Far left radio talker Mike Malloy lied saying that the shooter was a Glenn Beck follower.

Beck responded saying that you knew the guy was a liberal because he didn’t know how to shoot.

Police Psychologist: Shocking Horrific & Disgusting Display Of Police Behavior!

Posted by iusbvision on December 19, 2010

This is a growing problem with some young police. Instead of looking for a reason to show restraint he looked for an excuse to escalate. This time it resulted in an innocent artists death.

This is an issue that I have discussed quite a bit with my friends both in and out of police service.

It is because of this “excuse to escalate” issue that I made the following video with the following caption:

Attention Police – Just because technically you may be given a tactical excuse to use force, doesn’t mean that you should and doesn’t mean that it is genuinely justified. Being a peace officer means that you show restraint even if it can hurt, because that uniform means you are a peace officer, not merely a tactical combat officer. If you don’t understand that you should not be in that uniform.

Gov. Christie describes apology from teachers union president over death threat.

Posted by iusbvision on November 21, 2010

If my chief of staff had sent out that email, praying for your death, there would have been 5000 teachers on the front steps of the state house screaming and yelling for him to be fired, and you would have been too late, because I would’ve already fired him. If a student sent out that email praying for the death of his teacher, he would’ve been suspended from school and sent to mandatory counseling. Yet, if a Teachers’ Union leader does it, it’s no big deal… That double standard doesn’t exist anymore.

Democrats Get Violent Again: Man Filming Campaign Event Assaulted and Punched in the Face

Posted by iusbvision on September 24, 2010

This is another in a long,

string of recent leftist violence. Most of which the elite media ignores.

Of course and then there are the threats,

threats, that the elite media also mostly ignores.

James O’Keefe at Big Government:

On September 23, 2010, at a speech by Gubernatorial candidate John Kitzhaber, a citizen was violently assaulted.

Approximately 10 minutes into the speech the moderator informs the public not to film. The citizen continues to film, stating it is his First Amendment Right. The camera is smashed into his face. This is clearly seen on the video.

Pelosi’s and other House staffers stage Palin as “Nazi” rally

Posted by iusbvision on September 19, 2010

Your tax dollars at work?

A great scoop from Big

A video showing protesters outside an Americans For Prosperity event has surfaced on the internet. It shows the protestors with signs depicting Sarah Palin and Glenn beck with Hitler mustaches and the label “Naz-Tea Party” over their pictures. Also depicted as Hitler is GOP candidate Adam Kinzinger running against Rep. Debbie Halvorson (IL-D) in the 11th District in Illinois.

As protests go, it’s a bit limp and poorly attended, but the offensive and inflammatory signs certainly grab your attention. Especially considering the Democratic Party and the NAACP’s very high-profile condemnation of inflammatory signs that have appeared at Tea Party events.

What makes this video so compelling is what it shows after the protest. [IUSB Vision Editor’s Note: It shows the same protestors carrying those very same signs, going into the office of Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Halverson’s office, and look at whose other staffer is caught below] :

Once the scene breaks up, a handful of the protesters, including one gentleman in a striped shirt who is earlier seen leading the group in a chant, walk two blocks away and enter a well-lit office.

So well-lit that you can see them chatting and you can clearly make out their faces as the same people who had just participated in the protest.

The well-lit office happens to be Halvorson’s campaign headquarters. You can clearly see Halvorson’s campaign manager Julie Merz sitting in the window chuckling with the team as the wind-down after a long night of hanging out with people who like depicting the former Vice-Presidential candidate as a mass-murdering fascist.

We eagerly await Rep. Halvorson’s condemnation of the hate that was on display at this protest and we expect her to immediately purge from her staff any and all participants who readily accepted the depiction of Beck, Palin and Kinzinger as Adolph Hitler-Like Nazi’s.

We also ask the NAACP and Democratic leadership to condemn these “Astro-turf” protestors as hate-mongers and bigots for likening Ms. Palin to Hitler.

We’re sure Speaker Nancy Pelosi will want to investigate who was behind the funding for this event and the printing of those signs. We’re sure Ms. Pelosi won’t have any trouble getting that information, after all, Julie Merz – Rep. Halvorsen’s campaign manager who is depicted at the end of the video – was just recently the Deputy Director of Member Services on Ms. Pelosi’s staff.

Michael Barone: Gangster government stifles criticism of ObamaCare – UPDATED!

Posted by iusbvision on September 18, 2010

“There will be zero tolerance for this type of misinformation and unjustified rate increases.”

That sounds like a stern headmistress dressing down some sophomores who have been misbehaving. But it’s actually from a letter sent Thursday from Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to Karen Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans — the chief lobbyist for private health insurance companies.

Secretary Sebelius objects to claims by health insurers that they are raising premiums because of increased costs imposed by the Obamacare law passed by Congress last March.

She acknowledges that many of the law’s “key protections” take effect later this month and does not deny that these impose additional costs on insurers. But she says that “according to our analysis and those of some industry and academic experts, any potential premium impact . . . will be minimal.”

Well, that’s reassuring. Er, except that if that’s the conclusion of “some” industry and academic experts, it’s presumably not the conclusion of all industry and academic experts, or the secretary would have said so.

Sebelius also argues that “any premium increases will be moderated by out-of-pocket savings resulting from the law.” But she’s pretty vague about the numbers — “up to $1 billion in 2013.” Anyone who watches TV ads knows that “up to” can mean zero.

As Time magazine’s Karen Pickert points out, Sebelius ignores the fact that individual insurance plans cover different types of populations. So that government and “some” industry and academic experts think the new law will justify increases averaging 1 or 2 percent, they could justify much larger increases for certain plans.

Or as Ignagni, the recipient of the letter, says, “It’s a basic law of economics that additional benefits incur additional costs.”

But Sebelius has “zero tolerance” for that kind of thing. She promises to issue regulations to require “state or federal review of all potentially unreasonable rate increases” (which would presumably mean all rate increases).

And there’s a threat. “We will also keep track of insurers with a record of unjustified rate increases: Those plans may be excluded from health insurance Exchanges in 2014.”

That’s a significant date, the first year in which state insurance exchanges are slated to get a monopoly on the issuance of individual health insurance policies. Sebelius is threatening to put health insurers out of business in a substantial portion of the market if they state that Obamacare is boosting their costs.

“Congress shall make no law,” reads the First Amendment, “abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.”

Sebelius’ approach is different: “zero tolerance” for dissent.

The threat to use government regulation to destroy or harm someone’s business because they disagree with government officials is thuggery. Like the Obama administration’s transfer of money from Chrysler bondholders to its political allies in the United Auto Workers, it is a form of gangster government.

“The rule of law, or the rule of men (women)?” economist Tyler Cowen asks on his blog. As he notes, “Nowhere is it stated that these rate hikes are against the law (even if you think they should be), nor can this ‘misinformation’ be against the law.”

According to Politico, not a single Democratic candidate for Congress has run an ad since last April that makes any positive reference to Obamacare. The First Amendment gives candidates the right to talk — or not talk — about any issue they want.

But that is not enough for Sebelius and the Obama administration. They want to stamp out negative speech about Obamacare. “Zero tolerance” means they are ready to use the powers of government to threaten economic harm on those who dissent.

The closing paragraph of Sebelius’ letter to AHIP’s Karen Ignagni gives the game away. “We worked hard to change the system to help consumers.” This is a reminder that the administration alternatively collaborated with and criticized Ignagni’s organization. We roughed you up a little but we eventually made a deal.

The secretary goes on: “It is my hope we can work together to stop misinformation and misleading marketing from the start.” In other words, shut your members up and play team ball — or my guys with the baseball bats and tommy guns are going to get busy. As Tyler Cowen puts it, “worse than I had been expecting.”

Michael Barone,The Examiner’s senior political analyst, can be contacted at His column appears Wednesday and Sunday, and his stories and blog posts appear on

UPDATEBarone continues:

A few days before my Examiner column accusing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius of thuggery and gangster government for her threats against health insurers who contradict the administration line on the costs of Obamacare, my friend John Hoff, who worked on health care policy in the Bush administration, published a piece on the Heritage website describing some of the things the administration might be able to do under Obamacare. Including de facto price controls without explicit authority. Sounds like a primer on gangster government—taking away people’s property without due process of law. All the more reason to repeal this appallingly bad legislation.

New Hampshire Democrat Keith Halloran Wishes Sarah Palin Dead on Facebook

Posted by iusbvision on September 10, 2010

I don’t know how I missed this story earlier. It is amazing how Sarah Palin, just by being as effective as she is and by being herself brings out the haters like no one else (ok well maybe Ann Coulter is in the running as well).

A New Hampshire state representative has resigned his position and announced he will not run for re-election after writing that a dead Sarah Palin is “more dangerous than a live one.”

State Rep. Timothy Horrigan stepped down Thursday after posting a Facebook page in which he described the “myth” of the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican presidential candidate.

His resignation comes after another New Hampshire Democratic candidate apologized the same day for his Facebook post in which he wished Sarah Palin and the father of her grandchild, Levi Johnston, had been on the plane that crashed Tuesday, killing former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens.

“Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board,” Keith Halloran originally wrote in reference to Palin and Johnston, her daughter Bristol’s ex-boyfriend. has more on Halloran’s nuttery:

A Wikipedian e-mails to note that Timothy Horrigan, who resigned today from the New Hampshire House of Representatives over a joke about Sarah Palin’s death, took an interest in another leading Republican on the online encyclopedia.

Horrigan is active on the site, my correspondent e-mails, and “most of his edits are quite innocuous.”

He has a special interest, however, in the complicated personal life of Newt Gingrich  and has repeatedly edited it.

The point he’s added: “Gingrich has showed his strong support for the institution of traditional marriage by marrying three times.”

Pinhead New York prosecutor charges man for defending home from a violent gang with an AK

Posted by iusbvision on September 7, 2010

Find a jury to convict this man.

New York, a progressive mecca (albeit with a short reprieve with Rudy) where criminals are victims of  “society”, where illegal alien criminals are often let go or not reported to ICE for deportation and where a law-abiding black man with no criminal record dared to defend his home against 20 MS-13 thugs with one of those terrible politically incorrect “assault rifles”.  If black people start becoming NRA types they could become the political enemies of the progressive left and we can’t have that can we… so of course they are out to either send him to jail or bankrupt him with legal bills. How dare he not sit back and be a victim – doesn’t he know his place…. if only he were a well-connected white guy right progressives? Kathleen M. Rice, the progressive county prosecutor went on an Obama styled “listening tour” in preparation for her plans to run for NY Attorney General….hmmm what do you think the listening tour would have to say about this?

Progressives seem to be constantly tossing about the race card today against anyone they fear. If they want to see the face of racism, perhaps they should find a mirror.

CBS Local New York:

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBS 2) — He was arrested for protecting his property and family.

But it’s how the Long Island man did it that police say crossed the line.

He got an AK-47 assault rifle, pulled the trigger and he ended up in jail, reports CBS 2’s Pablo Guzman.

George Grier said he had to use his rifle on Sunday night to stop what he thought was going to be an invasion of his Uniondale home by a gang he thought might have been the vicious “MS-13.” He said the whole deal happened as he was about to drive his cousin home.

“I went around and went into the house, ran upstairs and told my wife to call the police. I get the gun and I go outside and I come into the doorway and now, by this time, they are in the driveway, back here near the house. I tell them, you know, ‘Can you please leave?’ Grier said.

Grier said the five men dared him to use the gun; and that their shouts brought another larger group of gang members in front of his house.

“He starts threatening my family, my life. ‘Oh you’re dead. I’m gonna kill your family and your babies. You’re dead.’ So when he says that, 20 others guys come rushing around the corner. And so I fired four warning shots into the grass,” Grier said.

Grier was later arrested. John Lewis is Grier’s attorney.

“What he’s initially charged with – A D felony reckless endangerment — requires a depraved indifference to human life, creating a risk that someone’s going to die. Shooting into a lawn doesn’t create a risk of anybody dying,” Lewis said.

Grier said he knew Nassau County Police employ the hi-tech “ShotSpotter” technology in his area and that the shooting would bring police in minutes. Cops told Guzman he was very cooperative.

Grier also said he was afraid the gang outside his house was the dreaded MS-13. And Nassau County Police Lt. Andrew Mulraine, head of the gang unit, said MS-13 has 2,000 members in the county.

“They’re probably the most organized. They almost have a military hierarchy within the gang, so they are the most organized gang we encounter on a daily basis,” Mulraine said.

You may think a person has the right to defend their home. But the law says you can only use physical force to deter physical force. Grier said he never saw anyone pull out a gun, so a court would have to decide on firing the gun.

Police determined Grier had the gun legally. He has no criminal record. And so he was not charged for the weapon.

That ShotSpotter technology pinpoints where a gun has been fired within 35 feet. Police said it also detected two other shootings in nearby Roosevelt that night.

If this man was armed with anything less than a military weapon he very well may be dead along with his family. Maybe if you are so inclined go ahead and call this man’s attorney and send a donation to his defense.

Voted Obama? Embarrassed Yet? Sign Owner Recieves Death Threats

Posted by iusbvision on September 2, 2010

Someone who put up a copy of this sign in the Ozarks is getting death threats from those who claim a monopoly on tolerance.

OZARK, Mo. — When it comes to politics, there may be as many opinions as cars cruising down U.S. 65. So, naturally, there are different reactions to a billboard south of Ozark that says “Voted Obama? Embarrassed yet?”

“I know the president didn’t win down here, but there were a lot of people down here that voted for him, and I think I can speak for them and say we are not embarrassed yet,” Matthew Patterson, executive director of the Greene County Democratic Central Committee, said in a telephone interview on Sunday.

“My partner and I felt lots of frustration here lately, and we liked that sign and we thought that was a reasonable question to ask,” Steve Critchfield said in a telephone interview on Monday.

Critchfield and his business partner from Commercial One Brokers, a real estate firm in Branson, saw a similar sign online, bought it, and brought it to the Ozarks.

“I’ve certainly voted for people I’m embarrassed to say I’ve voted for,” he said. “We’re not naïve enough to think that we wouldn’t get someone to be upset. I’m just surprised how upset people are.”

Critchfield says he’s received death threats due to the sign; people accuse him of hate speech and racism. He insists the billboard was for something more American in the name of discourse, conversation, and old-fashioned debate.

“If everybody thinks [President Obama’s] done a great job and they’re very happy,” he said, “then I guess they’d be buying billboards saying ‘I’m proud to have voted for him.’ That’s what makes America great, isn’t it?”

This original billboard can be found in Marshall, Texas, a town near the Louisiana border, off Interstate 20 connecting Shreveport with Dallas. “E.M.– Citizen” paid for it.

A radical enviornmentalist who took three hostages at the Discovery Channel headquarters while wearing what police may be explosives was shot and killed by officers, police said.

The gunman, identified as James Lee, was killed by police following four hours of negotiations but the hostages are all safe, said Montgomery County Police Chief J. Thomas Manger.

Manger said the suspect had “metalic canisters” strapped to his chest and back. When Lee was struck by police bullets, one of the canisters “popped.” Police have not confirmed if the canisters were a bomb, but Manger said the “device may have gone off” when he was shot.

Manger said police will search the building looking for other potential explosives Lee may have left inside.

MSNBC  says that Lee was “awakened” by Al Gore’s thoroughly discredited film  “An Inconvenient Truth”.

And here is Mr. Lee’s manifesto:

The Discovery Channel MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet and to do

the following IMMEDIATELY:

The Discovery Channel and it’s affiliate channels MUST have daily television programs at prime time

slots based on Daniel Quinn’s “My Ishmael” pages 207‐212 where solutions to save the planet would be

done in the same way as the Industrial Revolution was done, by people building on each other’s

inventive ideas. Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human

children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. A game show format contest

would be in order.

All programs on Discovery Health‐TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human

infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs’ places, programs encouraging

human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro‐birth programs must now push in the

direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.

All programs promoting War and the technology behind those must cease. There is no sense in

advertising weapons of mass‐destruction anymore. Instead, talk about ways to disassemble civilization

and concentrate the message in finding SOLUTIONS to solving global military mechanized conflict.

Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious‐cultural roots and

greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population

goes down!

Immigration: Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and

the anchor baby filth that follows that…. FIND SOLUTIONS FOR THEM TO STOP THEIR HUMAN GROWTH

Saving the Planet means saving what’s left of the non‐human Wildlife by decreasing the Human

population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies!

You’re the media, you can reach enough people. It’s your resposibility because you reach so many

Develop shows that will correct and dismantle the dangerous US world economy.

Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what’s left of the

planet with their false morals and breeding culture.

For every human born, ACRES of wildlife forests must be turned into farmland in order to feed that new

addition over the course of 60 to 100 YEARS of that new human’s lifespan! THIS IS AT THE EXPENSE OF

THE FOREST CREATURES!!!! All human procreation and farming must cease!

Before you say it, yes I know I left out William Ayers, Ted Kocinski, and all of the violent union thug action in our “Violence” category.

Posted by iusbvision on August 30, 2010

As Beck reminds us this is the web site and the radio that the President says that we should trust.

Update – HuffPo took the article down. Well they did the right thing, now if they could just stop with the constant smearing they would be getting somewhere.

Attorney General Eric Holder vs Lt. Col. Allen West on “Radical Islam”

Posted by iusbvision on May 15, 2010

Eric Holder –

Having read much of the Quran and some of the Hadith, what I saw was consistent with Allen West’s view (you can watch middle eastern state run TV online and it has much Jihad, hate and scapegoating).

Straight talking new Republicans vs old time politicians.

Lt. Col. Allen West –

CWA Union Uses Violence Against Two Employees Who Blew Whistle on Union Corruption

Posted by iusbvision on May 12, 2010

Courthouse News Service:

According to the complaint in Brooklyn Federal Court, DiStefano was a member in good standing with the union when in the summer of 2007 a union manager overseeing worked for Verizon on Staten Island told his men that so long as they did three “fiber to premises” jobs each day, they could put in for a full day’s pay no matter how many hours they actually worked.
DiStefano says he refused to participate in the scheme, and told other workers, supervisors and union management that the practice was illegal. When Taravella went to work at the Verizon garage, he says, he expressed the same reservations.
DiStefano and Taravella say revealed the scheme to Verizon’s corporate security in May 2008. From then on, they say, they were subjected to increasing abuse from union brothers, shop stewards and union chiefs.
They claim that Richard Meltz, a union chief, told angry union members to “do whatever you want with those two guys.”
Immediately afterward, the two men say they were brought up on false charges that they had made “discriminatory” gestures” to their co-workers. The case was supported by affidavits signed by many of their union brothers.
As a result, DiStefano and Taravella say, they were “terminated” from the Staten Island garage, relocated, demoted, and placed on bogus “final warnings” due to the false charges of “discrimination” and “harassment” and “making gestures” to their union brothers.
When they complained to superiors, they were told, “You guys did it to yourself,” according to the complaint.
Soon after that, Taravella says he discovered that somebody – allegedly shop steward Manny Rincon – had put a dead rat in his locker.

A month later, a union member called DiStefano a “rat” while hitting him about the face and head, an attack that left him with two herniated discs, he says.
In neither case did the union take action against the alleged perpetrator. Instead, in DiStefano’s case, he says the incident led to his termination for allegedly starting the fight.

The plaintiffs say the union encouragement the violence against them. They say that at an August 2009 meeting, Joe Macaleer and Mike Luzzi, two vice presidents of the Local, told members that the company was “having a lot of problems right now ‘due to a couple of troublemakers,'” and that “We have to learn that we can’t call corporate security because we don’t want those people getting involved in our business.”
The complaint claims that Macaleer said, “I don’t want nobody in this room to call corporate security any more.” [And] “I don’t care if somebody comes to work with a gun saying they’re going to shoot people, you don’t say anything … we have a lot of problems here due to the fact there are ‘spies ‘in the room.” [Ellipsis in complaint.]
Macaleer added, “You know who you are,” while looking directly at the plaintiffs, according to the complaint.
DiStefano and Taravella sued the CWA Local 1101, seeking damages for reckless indifference, assault and battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
They are represented by Ambrose Wotorson of Brooklyn.

More Video Evidence on the Bogus N-Word Accusation at D.C. Tea Party.

Posted by iusbvision on May 12, 2010

Yup, they lied.

It is like this – they made up the N word accusation, but unfortunately for the liars there are a dozens of video’s at every angle of when they said it was, so when caught they told the AP that WE had it all wrong, it was before at another  time. Unfortunately we have many videos of that as well.

Lesson learned, don’t make up lies in the midst of a sea of new media.

Via Big

We all know the story by now.  Rep. Andre Carson (D-In) says that he and Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga) were assaulted with racial slurs by Tea Party protesters as they walked down the step of the Cannon office building and headed to the Capitol on March 20th.  Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo) also told reporters that he heard the ‘N-word’ as he was walking a few yards behind Rep. Lewis.  “It was like a chorus”, Rep. Cleaver said.

Only problem is:  Rep. Cleaver wasn’t there.  He didn’t walk behind Rep. Lewis coming down the steps of Cannon on the way to the Capitol.  He walked behind Rep. Lewis coming UP the steps of Cannon on the way BACK from the Capitol.

Of course, Rep. Cleaver and Rep. Carson could claim that racial slurs were screamed both times by the Tea Party protesters.  If that’s the case, then they have contradicted their own narrative from two weeks ago when the AP ran a story with the headline:

Wrong video of health protest spurs N-word feud

The entire thesis of that story was that the dumb, right-wing wackos were looking at the wrong video at the wrong time to show that racial slurs didn’t happen.  We’d been looking at a video showing the Congressional Black Caucus walking up the steps of Cannon returning from the Capitol.  But, it is now claimed, the racial slurs were shouted earlier in the day while Rep. Carson and Rep. Lewis were walking to the Capitol.

If last month’s narrative was that there were no racial slurs shouted on the way up the steps of Cannon, then how did Rep. Cleaver hear a chorus of the ‘N-word’?

It seems there’s only one question left to ask:  Who’s lying, Rep. Carson or Rep. Cleaver?  Or… both?
