What is America’s True Form of Government?

The Most Important Video You May Ever See.

The following link contains lectures from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Examples include “Capitalism and is it good for the poor?”, “Is religion good for society”, “Foundations of our system of law” etc. There are over 500 lectures and speeches on various subjects that you would likely never hear in college due to ideological bias.

Excellent video, I think makes the argument against the circular theory of the political right and left. (if I’m saying this correctly) For example; if you go far enough right, you be come left again and visa versa. I think the straight line theory describes this better and logically. All the way right, nothing happens or less government, All the left, too much happens or more government. Too simple really but it does help you to understand who is truly “right” and who is truly “left” and where our form of government sat originally.

Never really put together how the “different” types of political systems tied into one another, and that it leaves us with either being a republic or an oligarchy. The spectrum is right, and when they discuss the whole meaning of anarchy it proves the point. Too much of democracy or oligarchy (like the in the Old Western example) causes mass chaos! It’s hard to say what we as America can stick to our name as a political system, but this video was great.

First of all, the video is great because it simplifies the categories of authority and rule. What’s disheartening about the video is it fortifies my opinion, of our countries path to self-implosion. The United States of America has progressed from Republic to Democracy onto Oligarchy. Evidence being Presidential Candidates, Presidents, Vice-Presidents and Cabinet Members all alike, may have held jobs as ex-CEOs of multibillion dollar companies. Lawyers, business owners and lobbyists are now all of our president’s constituents, the powerful few. We may now change that old idiom, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”, to ”When in American politics do as Roman politics do.” I deduced that all five of the governments presented, none have been successful so far. We need a happy medium, a better answer.

I have to agree with everyone and say that this was a great video. I appreciate that it points out the differences in what left and right actually are. I had no idea what the dfferences were. Thank goodness for the knowlegde and wisdom of James Madison and the rest of our founding fathers for not allowing for a democracy. However, I am sure that now things are changing and it is concerning the resembalance in Rhome and the U.S. governments. Scary thought!

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen when it comes to explaining what America was intended to stand for. I use the video for demonstration every chance I get. Too many Americans are fooled into thinking we are a Democracy. Every time I hear someone say that, I cringe.
